About the home

Seaside House in Old Hunstanton is perfectly located for a family beach holiday. Just a 3 minute walk takes you to the beautiful sandy dunes where you can play buckets and spades to your heart's content. Keep yourself going with an ice cream from the beach cafe. Show off your kite flying skills. Watch the lifeboat and hovercraft heading out on practice rescue missions. Relax in the shade of one of the apple trees in the enclosed cottage garden. Cook local farm produce on the barbecue or dine out at one of the many great pubs or restaurants available in this traditional North Norfolk coastal village. Seaside House is just a 5 minute stroll from The Neptune, a beautiful Michelin starred restaurant specialising in delicious dishes created from our fantastic local Norfolk produce.

The semi-detached accommodation, just off Sea Lane, is beautifully presented and appointed to a very high standard with crisp white linen and piles of fluffy towels. Children can be entertained in the separate well-equipped family lounge. Although not specifically adapted for wheelchair users there is level access to the property and for those that find the stairs tricky the potential to create a downstairs bedroom and shower-room for your stay if preferred.

Seaside House guests also have the option of renting Seaside Hut, our beautiful Old Hunsanton beach hut, for the duration of their stay should they wish.

Further details

Seaside House is available for weekly rentals throughout the year and also for off-peak weekends/short breaks.

Linen, towels and separate beach towels are all included.

We expect Seaside House to be left clean and tidy ready for a thorough end-of-stay clean which is included in the price.

At Christmas and New Year there is a Christmas tree provided.

Friday changeover (but see below)

During the summer Seaside House usually books-up solidly with a Friday changeover however at other times of year we are happy to consider alternative changeover days. Please ask us about your preferred dates - if we are able to be flexible then we will be.

Seaside Hut is our beach hut on Old Hunstanton beach. It is just a 4 or 5 minute walk from Seaside House and located amongst the sandy dunes. Full of buckets, spades, windbreaks, chairs, tables, crockery, cutlery and even a little hob/oven/grill, it offers the 'icing-on-the-cake' for your British seaside holiday! It is available for rental exclusively to guests of Seaside House. Pricing for beach hut rental is available separately - please contact me for further details.

The East Anglia / Norfolk region

Norfolk is a large rural county with traditional English countryside and is full of wonderful villages to explore. The North Norfolk Coast is renowned for its quaint quaysides, beautiful beaches and saltmarshes.

People are friendly and welcoming, pubs are plenty and shopping focuses on locally-produced goods from enticing little specialist outlets.

By car you can easily drive to The Queen's home at Royal Sandringham (open to the public when Her Majesty is not in residence), Norfolk Lavender, boutique shopping at Burnham Market, the beautiful beach at Holkham, Wells-next-the-Sea, Bircham windmill, Snettisham farm park and deer safari, Kings Lynn, and the RSPB bird reserve at Titchwell.

The Old Hunstanton area

Old Hunstanton is the perfect location from which to explore. Within a few minutes walk of Seaside House you will find the wonderful beach and dunes dotted with beach huts, the beach cafe, lifeboat station, the North Norfolk Coast path, Craft barns, pubs, restaurants, fantastic little village shop/deli, pitch and putt course, lighthouse, golf course and a small children's play park.

A little further on foot, past the shipwreck on the beach, you reach the small Victorian seaside town of Hunstanton (or just 2 minutes drive) where you will find all the ingredients for an English seaside holiday; rockpools, crazy golf, penny arcades, the Sea Life centre and the essential fish and chip restaurants of course! All great incentives for getting your little people to keep walking when their legs get tired! Hunstanton also has a collection of shops and supermarkets for your basic supplies.

Easily accessed by car just off the A149 which is the main coast road linking all the North Norfolk seaside villages. Buses run from Kings Lynn via nearby Hunstanton.
