Dalmatia is one of the oldest and the largest region of Croatia. The region encompasses the area from the town of Zadar in the North to Dubrovnik in the South. However, it is not only the big regional cities that attract visitors from all over the world but also the small picturesque settlements and villages in their vicinity as well as the sunny islands and peninsulas. With the beauty of its landscape and rich heritage, Dalmatia represents the Mediterranean as it once was.
The karsts relief predominates in Dalmatia. Because of the mild Mediterranean climate there is a plenty of diverse vegetation flourishing in the area.
Dalmatian islands are the true pearls in the crown of Dalmatia. From the islands in the northern Dalmatia such as Pag, Ugljan, Žirje, Pašman, Dugi otok and Kornati, via larger sunny islands in the mid Dalmatia such as Hvar, Bra?, Kor?ula, Vis and Lastovo, to the islands of the Southern Dalmatia like Mljet, Elafiti and the peninsula of Pelješac – Dalmatian islands will strike you with their cultural heritage and natural beauty.
Let yourself immerse into the magic of the coastal Dalmatia by exploring its long beaches, crystal blue sea, beautiful unspoiled nature and rich tradition. Or you can unveil Dalmatian hinterland rich with rivers and lakes, full of diverse flora and fauna, where the traditional crafts are still alive and everything emanates a special charm and tranquility, characteristic only of a region where people live in harmony with nature.
Okrug is located on the western part of the island of Ciovo. It consists of two tradicional Dalmatian places, Okrug Gornji and Okrug Donji. Its geographical position makes it the center of Dalmatian micro region. It has a mild Mediterranean climate, rich subtropical and Mediterranean vegetation, archipelago of picturesque islands, innumerable small hidden bays and beaches, 2670 sunny hours per year…all that makes Okrug one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Croatia.

Diving School offers the possibility of enjoying the beauties of the Adriatic Sea, a fitness center with tennis courts relaxes from all the stresses of modern life. Tourist may spend their days in daily excursions in small boats to neighboring quiet bays, rent a scooter or fly with parachutes on the local beach.

There are trips to the waterfalls of Krka (60 km), Split (33 km) and Medjugorje (100 km) from island of Ciovo. Split airport is only 8 km away.
