The Hayloft is a detached newly completed barn conversion situated in a quiet courtyard setting within the peaceful and picturesque village of Bratton Clovelly. Now ready for its first holiday let season, the finish is to a very high standard whilst retaining character with oak beams and a mix of tiled and oak flooring. Light, bright and spacious the property is a short stroll away from the excellent Clovelly Inn which serves good food. Situated close to the Devon/Cornwall border the village is surrounded by beautiful unspoilt countryside with fabulous views.
The interior is modern and cosy with underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs. The large lounge area has a gas-fired woodburner for extra comfort. Patio doors lead from the lounge and conservatory style dining room onto an enclosed private garden with a lawned area and a pretty patio where you can dine alfresco.Free WiFi is available. Dartmoor is within easy reach providing stunning scenery and the ideal place for those who enjoying walking or more serious hiking. The nearby Granite Way is an excellent cycle track where cycles may be hired. The Atlantic surfing beaches of Bude are within a 30 minute drive. Water sports/bird watching/walking are all on offer at Roadford Lake ( a 10 minute drive).
Whether you choose to have a relaxing break or an active one The Hayloft will provide you with everything you need to ensure your stay is peaceful and comfortable. It is ideal for a couple seeking a romantic break or a small family (downstairs sofa bed) to enjoy all that the area has to offer.

The West Country / Devon region
Bratton Clovelly is an unspoilt, traditional Devon village. It has a welcoming and characterful Inn serving good food. The village is steeped in history with ancient cob built cottages and a beautiful Norman church from which there are stunning views of Dartmoor. The area is surrounded by glorious undulating countryside of patchwork fields and pretty lanes.The market towns of Okehampton, Tavistock and Launceston are all about a 20 minute drive away. The nearest beaches are a 30 minute drive away on the North Cornwall coast.
Okehampton / Bratton Clovelly area
Watersports Roadford Lake is only 3 miles away and offers water sports, birdwatching ,trout fishing ,pleasant walks/nature trail and a good cafe.
Beaches The beaches of Bude are a 35 minute drive , the town itself offers many cafes and shops.
Cycling The Granite way is a cycle path which runs from Okehampton to Lydford. Bikes can be hired from nearby Sourton Cross.
National Trust Lydford itself is a 20 minute drive and boasts good pubs, and the National Trust attraction of Lydford Gorge with gorgeous scenery and walks.
The world famous Eden project is an hours drive.
Dartmoor with its beauty and many attractions is within easy reach.
Tavistock is a popular market town with regular markets, good shops, a riverside walk, picturesque park and public swimming pool.

How to get there
Exeter is our nearest city for transport links with regular trains from London. Exeter International Airport has the budget airline Flybe in addition to other airlines.
Directions, by road: From the M5 at Exeter turn onto the A30, signposted ''A30 Okehampton'' at junction 31.
Follow the A30 for around 20 minutes until you are passing the Okehampton area. Now take the turning marked ''Tavistock and Plymouth A 386''.
Concentrate at the bottom of the exit slip! Turn right toward Okehampton and then immediately left, sigposted ''Lewdown 7miles'' stay on this road for seven miles until you reach the village of Lewdown. You will see 'Jethros' nightclub on your left hand side and immediately after this a school on your right, turn right here, signposted ''Bratton Clovelly 3miles''
After five minutes you will arrive in Bratton Clovelly, the centre of which has a small village square with the Church, drive into this square by the Church, if you are looking at the Church the entrance to an old farm is on your right, immediately next to the Church rooms, drive through into what was the old Farmyard and you will see the Hayloft immediately in front of you, parking is in front of the Cottage and the door is open with the keys on the inside.

Further details indoors: The Hayloft has a parking space directly outside the front of the property. There is oil-fired underfloor central heating downstairs and radiators upstairs. The downstairs is spacious comprising of: * A newly fitted, well equipped kitchen with tiled floor and wooden work top. * Separate conservatory style dining room with oak table and chairs. * A downstairs cloakroom. * A large, light and airy lounge with 2 leather sofas and a Barcelona style chair.One of the sofas has a good quality sofabed with a 45 inch mattress. A gas fired woodburner provides extra cosiness. There is a wall mounted Digital LCD freeview TV. * Patio doors lead from the dining room and lounge onto a private enclosed garden with a lawned area and a patio with new wooden furniture, and a rotary washing line. * Upstairs is a bedroom with double bed and a walk in wardrobe with clothes rail. * An upstairs bathroom, newly fitted and fully tiled with full size bath, electric shower and heated towel rail.

Conditions
A deposit of 30% is required when making your booking. The deposit will secure your booking. The final balance is to be paid at least 4 weeks in advance of your holiday by cheque or Paypal. If you wish to make a last minute booking then the balance will need to be paid in full at the time of booking. We would recommend that you take out holiday insurance in the event that you have to cancel your booking. In this instance if we were unable to re-let the property you would, regrettably, be liable for the full balance. Please arrive at your accommodation after 4p.m. unless a different arrival time has been arranged. At the end of your stay we would ask you to please depart by 10a.m.
