A stylish and comfortable end of terrace house set in a small, countryside condominium called Vale da Ribeira ('VDR'). VDR sits in approximately 75 acres of farmland between hills and valleys so the view from the terrace across open countryside and down to the Alvor Estuary is simply stunning. The house is privately owned by a family who take pride in offering a home from home experience to guests with luxury furnishings and fully fitted kitchen and bathroom facilities. The large sitting/dining room area has ample furniture to seat 6 as well as a breakfast bar looking through to a large, fully fitted kitchen. Accessed from both kitchen and sitting area, through glass doors, are 2 terraces with dining furniture and fabulous views of the gardens and open countryside down to the Alvor Estuary. 3 bedrooms are split over 2 levels, with a twin room on the first floor (entrance level) and 2 double bedrooms on the ground floor. The ground floor bedrooms both have en suite facilities whilst a first floor shower room services the twin room. All windows and external doors have lockable shutters. A garage offers secure parking and a further space is found off street to the front of the property.
This house is at the highest point of VDR so not only do you get the panoramic view but also much privacy. Although the house doesn't have air conditioning guests have commented that it remains cool. The owners provide a complimentary Welcome Pack for guests on arrival and included in the price is the use of a travel cot should you need it. For parties of 8 two extra beds can be provided - unfortunately due to the size of the property we aren't able to take a 7th and 8th adult so the extra persons are restricted up to the age of 18.
Within a short minute's stroll is a large communal pool. A little waterfall runs down into a children's paddling pool area making VDR perfect for families. At the highest point of the village is a pergola with seating - a perfect place to relax and soak up the views of the surrounding countryside. Extensive, landscaped gardens offer plenty of space to relax and many guests comment on how easy it is to slip into their holiday in such peaceful surroundings.

The Algarve region
As you travel across the Western Algarve, you will pass through an area of unchanged traditions, brought together with the latest modern conveniences and exciting holiday attractions. Welcoming its guests with the Mediterranean climate, the Western Algarve reveals a great variety of flora and fauna. The region is rich in biodiversity and ecosystems making it of a great ecological interest. The best way to discover the aromas and flavours of the Western Algarve is to stroll through the narrow streets and alleys found away from the coast. Here you will find a myriad of local restaurants and bars indulging into the dainties of traditional cuisine. The range of choices includes famous regional delicacies such as figs, almonds, carobs and a very special brandy. Only a step away from the restful inland area is the excitement of the Western Algarve night-life and the most beautiful beaches in Europe. During the daytime you can enjoy fanciful shadows of the rocky coastline casted on the sand and as soon as the night comes revel in the merrymaking of bars, discos, marinas and casinos. The region's built heritage reveals particular memories of the ancestors of the Western Algarve, making it a special cultural place to visit. If you are looking for an active holiday time, the Western Algarve offers a range of outdoor sports from golfing on the green courses to physical exercise at the region's excellent facilities.
Magnified with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, Vale da Ribeira is a very beautiful and peaceful village. Completed in 2007 it has been a huge success with holidaymakers, many of whom return year on year. While the village is conveniently located near the EN125 road, properties are set well back on elevated grounds, allowing residents and guests to enjoy peace and quiet among olive, orange and almond trees as well as other local flora. This is a year round destination - winter sun, excellent walking and bird watching, spring flowers in abundance, summer beaches and warm sunshine. The fantastically beautiful coastline and glorious hills inland are all within easy driving distance. The beaches in the Western Algarve are among the most beautiful and least crowded in Europe. There are lots of sheltered coves along the South Coast and Vale da Ribeira is very close to the famous Meia Praia beach which is the longest in the area stretching from Lagos up to the Alvor Estuary. Most beaches are easy to park at, some (for example Luz and Burgau) tend to be a little more popular and only a short walk is involved. Nearly all have some form of beach bar or restaurant. Get the map out and explore - there is so much to see and sometimes you might come across a beach that you share with only a few people. Golfers are ideally placed as some of the best courses in the Algarve are within a short drive including Penina, Palmares, Boa Vista and Parque do Floresta. Within 10 minutes is Algarve's famous Motorpark (Autodromo International Algarve) near Portimao with its racing school, driving experiences, events and activities.
