A beautiful cottage with everything you need - the kitchen was fully stocked with the essentials, the lounge with guidebooks, fiction and DVDs for all the kids. A great place to relax in or to use as a base to explore the Cotswolds.

"Gorgeous and so cozy!"
My husband and 6-year old daughter stayed for three nights at the Forge early May. The travel and key safe directions were easy to follow. We were thrilled with our stay at The Forge - it had everything we had hoped for and looked exactly like the photos on the site. The heated floor, pot-belly fireplace, powerful shower and deep bath were all very warm and comforting to come home to after a chilly May day out at the wonderful local pubs and country strolls. The beds, pillows and doonas were extremely comfortable and the kitchen had all the mod-cons that we needed. The home was very clean. We wished we had booked The Forge for longer!

Our stay at the Forge was grand. The cottage was not only comfortable, but decorated in a very appealing way. It had all of things that we required. We would return again and recommend this place to everyone.

"Smaller than anticipated"
We arrived to find the cottage had not been cleaned and prepared following the departure of the previous guests. Following a phone call to Anna Ferne we were told that there had been a mix up and that someone would be along in the next few hours. The cleaners finally showed up at around 5.30pm and we had to leave the property while it was prepared. We later had a visit by Anna, who put £20 behind the bar of the local pub by way of apology. However, we would much rather have been able to access the property on time than wait in limbo for two and a half hours past our check in time.
The property itself was much smaller than we expected. Although the website description states that it is for four people, it is really only large enough for two adults and two small children. The twin bedroom contains two junior size beds which were definitely not long enough for my strapping 6 foot son. He found it far more comfortable to sleep on the sofa!! The lounge is described as having seating for four people but this again is not the case when there are four adults. There is one armchair and a sofa that myself and two teenagers had to squash into, being unable to move once we had sat down.
The kitchen was of a high standard, although again it was very small. The shower room, however, was amazing.
The property as a whole was lacking some TLC, with cobwebs everywhere which wouldn't have taken much effort to remove, and a very over grown garden. Two of the four garden chairs were not usable as the foliage had covered them and I had to cut some of the bush down outside the entrance door in order that we could get into the property without having to brush against it.
In conclusion, we wouldn't stay there again.
We were very sorry to hear that these guests had a delay in getting access to The Forge due to a mix up with external cleaners to Blue Lagoon and we sincerely apologise for and this.
The Forge is in keeping with many other typical Cotswolds cottages of its time with regards to layout and size. We believe the photos and descriptions on the website give a very clear picture and so far, we have had fantastic feedback from all our guests since opening its doors in March 2013.
Since this guests stay, the owners have removed the shrub in the front of the main entrance and the gardener has restored order in the garden after the recent heat wave has caused a mad growth spurt.
