The Costa de Prata/Silver Coast region

The Silver Coast area in the West of Portugal is an area that has a temperate climate with mild winters, warm summers, and pleasant Autumns.
There are colourful vineyards, five star golf courses, cliff tops overlooking miles of sandy beaches,hilltops with white windmills, ancient monuments and museums to be explored.
The people are friendly and welcoming making the area a memorable place to explore the real Portugal.

Obidos area

The ancient medieval walled town of Obidos just is a short walk from our luxury villa with its cobbled streets lined with houses shops gifts and crafts a plenty,bars restaurants and many churches.there is also a post office, pharmacy internet cafe ,garage and tourist office in walking distance,.
There are numerous festivals held throughout the year to be enjoyed these include the Easter ,medieval,chocolate and Christmas festival. The Obidos lagoon is about 10 min drive for fishing boating and water sports.

The city of Caldas da Rainha is 5km away with great shopping, daily outdoor fresh fruit and vegetable market and town park with children's playground, boating lake and museum.
A new indoor shopping centrer has opened in the town centre a multi screen cinema that shows movies in English. There are several beach resorts and 5 star golf courses within 15-20 minutes drive from the villa.

The well known golf resort of Praia del Rey is 15 minutes drive away with two more 5 star golf courses in Obidos due for completion in the near future.

Beautiful beaches such as Sao Martinho do Porto ,Foz daRelho, Baleal, are fifteen minutes drive away
Further afield just 30 minutes drive are the lovely fishing towns of Nazare and Peniche......
The historical monastery and picturesque town of Alcobacha, and the shrine of Fatima are also well worth a visit.
There are vineyards 20 minutes drive from the villa where you can sample the fine champagne and wines of the region.

How to get there

Fly to Lisbon direct with several airlines which include Aerlingus and drive to our villa in less than an hour.
Numerous car hire companies are available at airports in Lisbon & Porto and in the nearby shopping town of Caldas da Rainha which is 5km from the villa.. Contact us for recomended car hire companies.

The villa is tastefully decorated and furnished to a very high standard.
The comfortable living room has a leather suite and wall mounted flat screen TV with satellite channels including ITV and BBC, and Cbeebies and a DVD player with a great collection of DVD, and portable radio/CD player.
Two of the bedrooms have en suites and balconies to sit out and enjoy the surrounding views.
There are automatic gates with intercom system and central vacuuming for your convenience.
All beds are extremely comfortable with white crisp luxury cotton sheets fitted on all beds. There is a private swimming pool and BBQ area to the rear of villa. (BBQ courtyard has two steps leading up to it from back door with wheelchair ramp available)
The main bathroom is located downstairs suitable for wheelchair access which has a large bath with shower over head bidet toilet and washbasin

You may request a full shopping delivery service to be in the villa upon your arrival, please contact owners for further information ( charge of items will be added to your rental cost )

The garden is equipped with large patio table, parasol, chairs, recliners sun beds, inflatables for the pool, Boogie boards ,beach mats picnic box thermal flask , beach toys and wind breaker are supplied for trips to the beach.
There are also two adult size bicycles.
There is a brick charcoal BBQ for outdoor cooking..
The villa overlooks a communal green area at the front if the children need space to kick a ball.

Conditions

We would prefer weekly bookings, however a daily rate is negotiable with the owner.
Sorry no pets allowed except for service dogs.
No smoking inside the house.
Refundable breakages deposit of 300 Euro required in advance which will be returned within two weeks of departure after inspection of the property.
Payment in full required eight weeks prior to holiday where possible.

Hi we stayed in your villa for five days in OCT 07 - the weather was still warm and the villa was excellent. we did not expect the quality of the furnishings to be so good. the beds were very comfortable and we loved the extras provided. We'll be back hopefully in 08.

The villa is extremely child friendly and safe. Perfectly located to the town of Obidos we were able to walk to the supermarket and to the town. Our 4 year old daughter loved the pool and all the toys & children's DVDs. The pool safety fence gave us added peace of mind. Thanks so much for our holiday in Obidos. Loved this villa excellent location and facilities for kids. The luxury of the villa is outstanding we found it extremely comfortable. The pool was great not huge but the boys enjoyed it all the same. The bonus was the safety fence we could put it up and feel secure also the other safety features in the villa was so child friendly. We loved the toys DVDs & games for the kids these were a god sent when mammy & daddy wanted to relax and enjoy the sun/pool. We would recommend this villa to families with kids & teenagers. Being so close to the unbelievable town of Obidos was great a short walk up hill to the town centre but all down hill going home.
We are seriously considering a return visit for the summer festival of 09 which we just missed this time round.
