IDEAL SPRING/SUMMER HONEYMOON/CELEBRATION RETREAT!
Enjoy Provence in this magnificent, unspoiled region of the Drôme. Private, Calm & Beautiful.
The property is a fully furnished and completely detached guest house on three levels, with its own garden, set in a very large private park--cultivated and sauvage--with a spectacular view of of the countryside and the Mont Ventoux--the highest mountain in Provence. Pleasantly furnished with all that is needed for the holidays, there are two bedrooms, one on each of the two upper levels and each one with its own private bathroom. Linens and towels are all included.
Especially suitable for the creative and those who would appreciate a nice balance of outdoor activities in the country. Ideal for couples and small families desiring a respite from the rhythm of city life. Yet, the house is only a few steps away from the authentic medieval village of Rousset les Vignes, Côte du Rhöne wine caverns, and a short promenade to an archaeological museum. Ideally situated for exploring the Chateau in Grignan where Madame Sévigné wrote her famous letters and the Roman Ruins in Vaison la Romaine which is just twenty minutes away.
For time spent at home relaxing, you can discover the various "rooms" in the garden, enjoying a pleasant escapade without ever leaving the property. Picnic on the grounds; evening apéritif in front of a roaring fire if you desire; walks in sunny Fall air along the mountain tops; or doing nothing at all. . . .

About this location
The Rhône-Alpes region
Very sunny region with mild and sunny winters. Area has a strong Mediterranean character. Summer days may be hot but the nights are usually cool - great for sleeping!
Olive trees, vineyards, and green oaks which maintain their leaves and colour year round are typical in the region, as are laurier rose, jasmine, rosemary and thyme and aromatic lavender fields.
There are activities in Rousset throughout the year, but like most small villages in southern France, the highlight of the season is July-August during the Village Celebration.
Noteworthy in this medieval village is the eleventh century chateau and the twelfth-century church and priory. The Notre Dame de Beauver Chapel, recently restored, offers a 300 meter high promenade which gives a splendid view of Rousset and its nearby villages and towns.
For archaeology buffs, an Archaeology Museum is in nearby Le Pègue, a short promenade away.
The Silk Museum in Taulignan is noteworthy for its beautiful fashion creations and textiles.
Not to be missed is the Chateau in Grignan where Madame Sévigné once lived and wrote her famous letters.
For sports buffs, the area--where the famous Tour de France passes--is a dream for cyclists; great for walking tours; a joy for equestrians; and excellent for golfers.
Food lovers and their friends will especially appreciate shopping and perusing the Thursday market in Nyons, concluded by a picnic in the countryside with the culinary treasures found at the "marche". A lazy promenade after the picnic to discover wild plants, and to enjoy the aromas of wild thyme, rosemary, and mountain lavender terminates a perfect afternoon before a well deserved siesta.
There is a village bistro, a gastronomic restaurant within walking distance, and great shopping nearby.
On the property where the House is situated, art lovers may visit the atelier of a renowned contemporary artist.

Shhhh! Lest the secret be let out about this charming spot for nature lovers, and those seeking privacy and a calm, pleasant villa to while away their holidays. . . .
I was a visitor during the early fall season before the end of summer time when the days were still long and the light magnificent. The weather was warm and quite pleasant, the accommodations just right, though I admit, my being a Southern Californian, that swimming was a challenge, the warm water being just a tad too cool for my liking!
Still, the placement of the pool on the property, allowing all day sunshine until early evening, permitted me to capture the rays on a transat in total privacy. . . .Delicious!
Country bliss notwithstanding, I was surprised at how convenient the location is—close to several supermarkets and several charming weekly outdoor markets, the closest being in Nyons, 10 minutes away, the largest being in Vaison la Romaine, 20 minutes away.
A dream holiday—much too short for my liking.
Thank you for this review, particularly descriptive about the ambiance --private, calm and relaxing--with the convenience of being close to whatever is needed to complete memorable vacation holidays.
