The Riviera Nayarit region

Nayarit & Jalisico,

When old meet new, only 15 minute away from the airport, north and south so you get to enjoy both old town and new town,

Old Town, Puerto Vallarta, and México

Voted the friendliest place on earth, Puerto Vallarta is surrounded by incredible beaches and jungles loaded with wildlife. The area, like much of Mexico, is both quaint and vibrant with cobblestone streets, charm, and local fiestas. We try it all, from people- to whale-watching, from local authentic Mexican to world renowned gourmet, from shopping to ziplines.

Riviera Nayarit

Located on Banderas Bay, just ten minutes north of Puerto Vallarta's airport, Riviera Nayarit stretches along nearly 200 miles of Pacific coastline. Riviera Nayarit offers top-notch hotels, world-class golf, white and golden sand beaches, and eco-tourism adventures. Punta de Mita, a mini-peninsula on the southwest point of Riviera Nayarit, has incredible beaches, lush jungles and a taste of rural Mexico. The picturesque town of Bucerias provides an insight of old Mexico. Golf is a must in this exclusive paradise. Just north of Nuevo Vallarta, Flamingos is known for its famous beach and is home to the first golf course in Banderas Bay. Nuevo Vallarta brings together luxury and nature to offer each visitor an enchanting escape with superb accommodations, comfort and entertainment. Near the airport, this region borders the states of Jalisco and Nayarit and has one of the longest walking beaches on the entire coast

Nuevo Vallarta

Introduction to Nuevo Vallarta.

Located just a few minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta was originally conceived by the Mexican government as a planned residential-resort with luxury villas that surround the area's estuary canals that evoke Florida. Other residences are lined up next to golf courses. Many deluxe hotels and resorts line up its three-mile long sandy beach, and several shopping centers with all sorts of amenities (supermarkets, health clubs, cyber cafés and banks among them) complement the Nuevo Vallarta experience, making of this community a destination of it's own.

In addition, with well-equipped marinas and a very social yacht club, Nuevo Vallarta strongly appeals to full-time and temporary Mexican and international residents that enjoy nautical activities, such as sailing, yachting and surfing. In contrast to bustling Puerto Vallarta, this area is super quiet and peaceful, offering luxurious privacy.

Neighborhoods & Neighboring Regions

Nuevo Vallarta is located just north of the Ameca River. Between the river and Nuevo Vallarta, the small town of Jarretaderas features a couple of Mexican-style seafood restaurants worth exploring. Just north of Nuevo Vallarta lies Flamingos, a similar planned community with its own golf course and resorts. Across from the highway, communities such as Valle Dorado and Mezcales are favored by locals who seek more affordable living and housing options.

The Gringo Gulch area of Puerto Vallarta became famous in 1963, when Richard Burton bought "Casa Kimberly" for Elizabeth Taylor while he was filming "Night of the Iguana" at Mismaloya Beach. Perhaps it was the paparazzi's photographs and reports of one of the 20th century's great love affairs that made Vallarta known as the most romantic spot in the world.

Today, Casa Kimberly is operated as a bed and breakfast where you can see personal photos and candid snapshots of the famous lovers. Gringo Gulch is also a great place to take pictures of the white stucco houses with bright red tile roofs that cling to the mountainside overlooking the Rio Cuale. Bougainvillea spilling from windows and balconies add colour to every photo taken in this charming neighborhood.
