The apartment is fully equipped with DVD/CD player with surround-sound in the living room, DVD player in the master bedroom, LCD TVs (in Living room and Master bedroom), all the kitchen appliances and comes with two large marble bathrooms with heated floors.The apartment is centrally air-conditioned and heated, but the location in the hills above Marbella makes for a marvelous climate and outdoor lifestyle all year round.
The living room has a large leather sofa and two easy chairs and the dining table seats 6 persons. In addition, the bright and spacious kitchen looks out on to a bar area and the bar chairs can be used for quick breakfasts. The very large patio/veranda has a large table and six chairs as well as two lounge/sunning chairs. The views from the patio are fabulous and you will be tempted to eat all your meals here. The master bedroom comes with a built-in electronic safe with codes that you can set yourself. The complex has 24 hour security.
The very large and bright kitchen has every item that could be required. All materials are supplied including crockery and cutlery, cooking utensils and all appliances. The kitchen has a full size Bosch fridge/freezer, built-in dishwasher and microwave/broiler. The washing machine also doubles as a dryer. All appliances are brand new. Breakfast can be taken on the lovely patio or at the kitchen bar. Shopping for groceries can be done at one of two supermarkets within 1 km of the apartment. Bed linen and towels are provided although guests are welcome to bring their own (particularly for long stays). The central A/C and heater has simple one touch controls.

The Andalucia region
The Costa del Sol stretches from the lovely town of Nerja in the east all the way down to Algericas and Gibraltar in the west and is the prime holiday spot in Spain and Southern Europe. The Costa is part of the province of Andalucia which was the once-great stronghold of Moorish Spain and boasts of beautiful cities rich in history and tradition like Seville, Granada, Cordoba and the sherry-producing town of Jerez de la Frontera. Each of these cities has visible remnants of the Moors, such as the Alhambra in Granada and the Mesquita in Cordoba, and can be reached within a couple of hours from Marbella.
The Costa del Sol is also known as the Costa del Golf and boasts of about 40 championship level courses that are either located in Marbella or can be reached within a 40 minutes drive from Marbella.
Climate is moderate and temperate with pleasantly warm, dry summers and mild winters with wonderfully crisp and sunny days. Marbella and Nueva Andalucia lie in the shadow of the famous quartz mountain and have a microclimate that is unique on the coast. In summer, when Seville records temperatures of 40 degrees plus, Marbella is about 29 degrees and in winter the temperature seldom falls below 10 degrees. This truly makes it a year-round resort.
Marbella is perhaps at the centre of all that is happening on the Costa del Sol. Consists of the old town (see below), the city itself and the Golden Mile stretch to Puerto Banus. Nueva Andalucia, as its name implies, is a new area opened up recently to development, stretching up the hillside from Puerto Banus. It is still mostly residential, with a few restaurants and supermarkets interspersed amidst the villas, golf courses and low rise apartments. The road up to Nueva Andalucia from Puerto Banus/Marbella is most picturesque with pink bouganvillae spilling over the walls of white-washed villas. From Nueva Andalucia, and from the apartment in particular, you can gaze down at the slopes that stretch all the way to the sea. On a clear day (nearly all the time), the rock of Gibraltar is clearly visible off on the right. Main areas of interest nearby are:
Puerto Banus (10 mins) : Exclusive and famous luxury yacht marina with boutiques,shops, bars, restaurants. Centre of night life activity. Place to see and be seen.
Marbella old town: (20 mins): Beautiful and charming old Spanish town with lovely, narrow streets, restaurants, churches, shops and bars. Can be visited during the day or at night. Particularly charming at night. Most restaurants here, as elsewhere in the area, favour al fresco dining. Its great to relax, drink some wine, eat fabulous food and watch people go by.
Mijas: (45 mins); Lovely old town hanging on to the steep slopes well above the town of Fuengirola. Great restaurants and beautiful narrow and steep streets make this a place you want to visit over and over again.
Ronda: (1 hour): Another gem of a town perched above a deep gorge, easily accessible by car from Marbella.
Ojen: (30 mins): A small, quaint town perched on a hillside and overlooking a large reservoir. Quiet, cobblestone streets, cafes and even a small winery.
Most activities focus on the nearby beaches, restaurants and people watching at Puerto Banus. Activities can be as hectic or as slow as you like, depending on your preference on a particular day. There are about 40 world-class golf courses within an hour's drive of Nueva Andalucia, including the Marbella Country Club which is within walking distance of the apartment. An abundance of water sports are available including para-sailing, jet-skiing. In the winter months, a short drive leads to the Sierra Nevada mountains nearby for (snow) skiing.

We spent our summer holidays at Sanjay's apartment at Las Tortugas and we loved it! The apartment is exactly als shown on the photographs though in reality it gives a more spacious feeling. Everything you need to feel at home is there. The best part was the wonderful terrace with it's spectacular view. The complex itself is also very nice. Not too big so that there is always space at the magnificent pool. There are some nice restaurants and 2 supermarkets nearby and the lively town of Puerto a Banus and the beaches are just a 10 minute drive away. A car is recommended! We would definitely like to come again!

The apartment is beautifully decorated, comfortable and has everything you require and more. Views from the terrace are lovely. The pool is stunning and was very clean. Sanjay made the booking process very easy, even at very short notice, and his hints and recommendations were extremely helpful. If you have a car a trip to Ronda is strongly recommended, it is a beautiful town with plenty to explore. If we were to visit Puerto Banus again we would definitely visit this apartment again.

I have just spent a fantastic week at Las Tortugas with my husband and two boys. The 2 bed apartment was a perfect size with large living room and diner. Kitchen was well equipped (even had a coffee machine and juicer) and everything was spotlessly clean. Bedrooms were a good size with plenty of wardrobe space and hangers. Large terrace leading from main bedroom and living room where we would sit outside on the beautiful rattan furniture to have our breakfast. Very quiet location with amazing swimming pool which was always cleaned and we always got sunbeds. Everything was perfect, from initial booking, detailed information/directions on how to find the apartment, being greeted upon arrival with keys and swift refund of security deposit as promised. Thank you Sanjay for sharing your lovely apartment with us, we would definitely stay at Las Tortugas again.

"An amazing apartment with a lot to do nearby."
The apartment itself was lovely; very modern, clean with everything you'd need. It's also extremely spacious - even more so than the photos show, and the balcony provides a nice place to sit out and eat and enjoy the beautiful view (you can just about see Morocco). It was nice and quiet when we were , which meant we often had the pool practically to ourselves. Nearby there are many places worth visiting. Marbella old town is nice to walk around and have something to eat. Ronda and Mijas are both beautiful and a fairly short drive away. Puerto Banus itself we mostly avoided as it's mainly yachts and people buying diamond necklaces for their dogs. Overall it was a fantastic relaxing holiday in a brilliant apartment.

"The perfect place to stay along the Costa del Sol!"
Our stay at Sanjay and Monica Modak's apartment at Las Tortugas de Aloha made us question booking a hotel for vacation ever again. We had the pleasure of staying here in early November, and are still feeling the effects of the relaxing retreat. The apartment is in a perfect location. It's conveniently located near several grocery stores and restaurants and you can easily access main roads to quickly get to surrounding sites and beaches. The apartment has a designated garage spot, but you can also park on the street. We had no problem parking right in front of the entrance each day. Compared to other rental properties we've stayed in, this apartment was immaculate beyond belief. The home is so well cared for - the bed linens, towels, furniture, etc. feel brand new. As we're people who like to cook almost every night, we were blown away by the kitchen. It literally has every tool and appliance you could ever need, much better stocked than our own home! With such wonderful indoor and outdoor dining spaces, it's a pleasure to cook in the apartment. We ate all of our meals outside on the sprawling patio - our favorite feature of the space. It's the perfect spot for sunbathing and reading with a beautiful view all the way down to the coast. We really can't recommend it enough to anyone looking to plan a vacation in the Marbella/Andalucia area.
