The Sicily region
The best advice for Sicily’s first time traveller is to visit only a portion of it.
Sicily is the largest island of the Mediterranean and the world's most ancient multicultural society: every corner has its historical and natural wonders, its own peculiar character and history. It would be a pity not to take advantage of it.
Luckily Sicily can be visited all year around: the climate is mild even in winter and each season offers its specialities, starting from the celebrated cuisine which is at its best when it features seasonal ingredients.
Noto, the 'garden of stone', is a late baroque urbanistic jewel that dominates the southern tip of Sicily, known as the Val di Noto.
The primary tourist activity in Noto is simply to wander around the beautiful streets or sit outside the Caffè Sicilia for incomparable sweets.
But you can also enjoy the beaches of Vendicari's Natural Reserve all year around and explore the wetlands for birdwatching.
Visit Greek and Roman ruins in the surrounding countryside or stop by at one of the wineries off the road.
Trek up and down the Hyblean Mountains heading for Pantalica or Cavagrande del Cassibile with it’s hidden lakes at the bottom.

Sorry to take so long to write this review. We stayed at the apartment with our two young children and loved both Noto and the apartment. It is a little bit of a walk into the main area (probably very easy for those without children, but just a little bit harder with them). The rooms were full of character and we really enjoyed having space to cook and an outside area with lemon and orange trees! We also loved being so close to Pasticceria J.F.Kennedy for delicious sweets.

"A beautifully peaceful place with a tastefully furnished apartment"
Our host was very friendly and spoke english eloquently. The house was stylishly furnished and was very comfortable for a family of four which Included two children. It was kept clean during our stay. Facilities worked well. We loved the use of the garden, where we could pick lemons to eat, relax and have meals. Noto is a pretty small town. That has good restaurants and wonderful ice cream cafe's. It's close in proximity to drive to other small coastal towns and beaches. An enjoyable stay for culture, sun and relaxation.

"a marvellous holiday"
this is a delightful apartment. We were pleased that it was warm enough to sit out in the beautifully scented little garden, a lovely oasis. Inside it was spacious, characterful and comfortable. We were sorry not to meet Angelica who was on holiday she made sure we were well looked after by Maria. We filled 10 days easily with the culture, history, nature and gastronomy of the region and will undoubtedly return. This is not rip off Sicily out for the tourists' buck, the people are lovely and genuine and the prices very reasonable.

"Lovely place to stay in a beautiful town."
We spent a week in the downstairs apartment which is a lovely place to be with all you need to be comfortable. The garden is very peaceful and we loved being able to pick fresh warm figs and lemons. There are many local shops which mean you don't need to drive to get a great selection of food. The town is just a few minutes walk away and is so beautiful. Angelica's directions to the house were faultless and she was so helpful in giving us advice for local restaurants, beaches and shops - just the sort of local information that made the holiday just perfect.

"Wonderful haven in noto"
Absolutely loved our stay. We stayed in the downstairs flat with the garden. Lovely to pick fruit from the trees and cook with the herbs in the garden. Gorgeous furniture and decor. Fab restaurant just down the road. Noto itself is awesome. Just watch out for the Sicilian drivers.....recommend train for day trips to Syracuse and Modica.

"Charming place to be in Noto"
The location was perfect, very quiet and very close to many shops, a delicious patisseria was just next door (!!).... We were on the basement during the first week with an access to the garden... Very charming... And we went up to the first floor for the second week, huge rooms and beautiful decoration.... Angelica was a perfect host and gave us some advices to enjoy our stay, I highly recommend this rental.
