Tourism is largely undeveloped, nevertheless there are quality restaurants within minutes of the villa.. On the same beach as the villa is a restaurant serving meals all day long. It is possible to prepare your own meals in the villa and eat on the magnificent terraces – or speak to your maid and she can organise for a local chef to come and prepare meals for you. On site we have a Malagasy sailing boat and staff can take you on your own trip round the islands.
Nearby is the Lokobe Reserve where lemurs, snakes and rare birds unique to Madagascar can be seen. On many beaches spectacular sunsets can be witnessed. It is possible to cycle all round the island in a day on the bicycles available at the villa. Among the aficionados Nosy Be is a recognised place for great diving.

The Northern Madagascar region
Situated off the southeast coast of Africa, Madagascar is the fourth largest island in the world. It is separated from the coast of Africa by the Mozambique Channel, the shortest distance between the island and the mainland is 400 km.
Madagascar consists mainly of a block of crystalline rocks. It is generally described as a plateau, rising sharply from the narrow plain of the east coast and descending in a series of steps to the strip of sedimentary rocks along the west coast. The high plateau is much indented and, on the eastern edge, cut by deep gorges and waterfalls. There are numerous volcanic outcrops that produce heights over 6,000 ft (the highest point being Tsaratanan, at 9,450 ft) and two former volcanic areas, Ankaratra and Andringingtra, which are over 8,500 ft.

Thousand thanks to Sams and his team for your devotion to duty and kindness. Congratulations to the Chef (Bravo Din). Keep your smile and your good humour Béa! And Sams thanks for all the ropes! and your patience .. we will come back! we will come back! Armel and Pierre Sams was very helpful - arranged trips, taxis, meal reservations etc. - nothing was too much bother. Dean cooked some superb meals for us and Rosina called in twice to see us, plus her arrangements for Tana and taxi pick ups were all as planned.
Madagascar is certainly different and even though we have travelled a great deal and I have lived in a third world country for three years there were still new experiences to be had. We have good memories of our stay and this is in part due to the beautiful villa and the care taken to ensure that everything ran smoothly and efficiently. Elizabeth H The villa is more beautiful than we could have imagined. The gardens are spotless and the view from our terrace amazing.
