The South East England region
London is a great city to visit, whether you are coming for business or leisure. It has history, culture, shopping and entertainment.
London one of the largest metropolitan areas in Europe, located on the River Thames.
London is a leading global city, with strengths in history, arts, commerce, education, entertainment, fashion, finance, healthcare, media, professional services, research and development, tourism and transport all contributing to its prominence. London has been described as a world cultural capital and it has the most international visitors of any city in the world, London Heathrow being the world's busiest airport by number of international passengers.
London contains four World Heritage Sites: the Tower of London; Kew Gardens; the site comprising the Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey, and St Margaret's Church; and the historic settlement of Greenwich (in which the Royal Observatory marks the Prime Meridian (0° longitude) and GMT). Other famous landmarks include Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Piccadilly Circus, St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square and Wembley Stadium. London is home to numerous museums, galleries, libraries, sporting events and other cultural institutions, including the British Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Natural History Museum, Science Museum, National Maritime Museum, National Gallery, Tate Modern, British Library, Madame Tussauds, Wimbledon and 40 theatres. The London Underground is the oldest underground railway network in the world and the second-most extensive.
Within the City of Westminster, the entertainment district of the West End has its focus around Leicester Square, where London and world film premieres are held, and Piccadilly Circus, with its giant electronic advertisements. London's theatre district is here, as are many cinemas, bars, clubs and restaurants, including the city's Chinatown district (in Soho), and just to the east is Covent Garden, an area housing speciality shops. The United Kingdom's Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, Royal Opera and English National Opera are based in London and perform at the Royal Opera House, the London Coliseum, Sadler's Wells Theatre and the Royal Albert Hall as well as touring the country.
Islington's 1 mile long Upper Street, extending northwards from the Angel, has more bars and restaurants than any other street in the United Kingdom. Europe's busiest shopping area is Oxford Street, a shopping street nearly 1 mile (1.6 km) long, making it the longest shopping street in the United Kingdom. Oxford Street is home to vast numbers of retailers and department stores, including the world-famous Selfridges flagship store. Knightsbridge, home to the equally renowned Harrods department store, lies to the southwest.
The North-West London / Wembley area
Wembley is an area of north-west London, and part of the London Borough of Brent. It is home to the famous Wembley Stadium and Wembley Arena.
Wembley lies near to the A40 Western Avenue and A406 North Circular Road.
Chiltern Railways services are provided at Wembley Stadium railway station. London Underground services are provided on the Metropolitan line and Jubilee line at Wembley Park tube station. London Midland, London Overground and London Underground Bakerloo line services are available at Wembley Central railway station.
Wembley benefits from a number of green spaces. These include Barham Park in Sudbury Town, King Edward VII Park, established in 1914 behind the High Road and Sudbury Green. Less managed spaces include Fryent Country Park, Barn Hill and Vale Farm sports ground. Brent River Park / Tokyngton Recreation Ground has recently been restored returning the river to a more natural course.
Nearby Sudbury Golf Course backs onto the Grand Union Canal with its towpath running into central London. Sudbury Squash and Tennis Club has outdoor tennis courts, an indoor squash court and a clubhouse. Wembley is a short distance away from the Welsh Harp reservoir and open space, created in the early 19th century by damming the River Brent to provide water for the Grand Union Canal.
From 1924, the original Wembley Stadium was the home of the English national football team, and served as the venue for the FA Cup final as well as rugby league's Challenge Cup final. The new Wembley Stadium serves exactly the same purposes and has a capacity of 90,000.
Besides football, Wembley can be configured to hold many other events, particularly major concerts.

"Deluxe room indeed. Friendly family and nice guests"
I had the great fortune of choosing this room for my first week in London as I was not a resident yet. The room is actually even bigger than the photos!. Huge wardrobe. Any girls' dream (even if you just carry a small bag). Huge bedroom and really nice bed. There is a radio in the room and it empowered my English.
There is a deluxe bathroom on the same floor with a bath and a shower. I only used the shower as it was really nice: warm and powerful. Even though for a couple of days the house had some other guests there was never a problem as there are other bathrooms in the house.
Friendly family. I met every single member of the family. They are really nice and I one feels they really care for their guests. I had very nice conversations along with a cup of tea. It's not a pose. They really show interest in your country as they have traveled a lot. I also have to say that they respected your independence. If you wanted to speak they were there for you, if you wanted to rest they wouldn't disturb you.
Lots of shops and restaurants 3min walking and the tube is also that short distance. Ok, maybe 5 minutes but it is a comfortable walk, really beautiful walk seeing the typical houses, nice pavement to roll the suit, no hills, just straight on and then turn left. Along with the shops there are cash points many buses and the tube.
You can travel by tube until 1.30am even though guests were not given a key they were always there for you no matter what time you arrived.
The only con -if any- is just a matter of respect on the visitor's side, which I find it natural. They are vegetarians and so if you would like to be a guest in their house one would obviously make them feel comfortable by not bringing any sort of meal to the house. But you can always get anything outside!. As I said shops and restaurants are quite close.
If you are a tourist you will basically have breakfast at the place and maybe some milk and biscuits at night? So no worries. And for those who might have general misconception that the house might smell species the answer is no. The house smells clean. Only when they cook (twice a day, they are not a restaurant!) can you smell it. One notices it downstairs but no bit in the rooms. I am not really used to spicy food and I found all those smells really delicious. I had the opportunity to taste a delicious soup they offered me as I stood in their house around Diwali time (New Year's Eve).
Hope you will enjoy it as well.

"very lovely family, staying in his house was a pleasure."
Rashmi and Neeta are very friendly and kind person.
Rooms were clean and comfortable and the continental breakfast in the morning was great.
The underground stations are around, so it is easily to get to the City. If your plans are related to this area of London, my strong recommendation for you is to stay here.

My family of four had a very pleasant stay at Wembley:)
The price is reasonable, given the convenient location of the house. It is near Preston Road tube station on the Metropolitan line. Although it takes about 40 to 50 minutes to get to the city centre (ie. Trafalgar Square, West End, etc). The travel is quite manageable without tube disruption. (Which unfortunately happened a few times during our stay. At least there are always buses. It is worth noting that all public transport will be suspended on Christmas Day, on which we stayed in the neighborhood and enjoyed the nice park nearby). There are quite a lot of restaurants and small shops near the house (within a 10-15 min walk). Around 4 pounds average for one person's meal. Two supermarkets, Tesco and Food Cooperative are also nearby.
Breakfast is provided. Cereal, bread with different spreads, fresh milk, instant coffee, Chinese tea and orange juice are available everyday. We also got fruits and yoghurt on some days. My grandparents, though fond of traditional Chinese breakfast, also enjoyed the breakfast provided. However, it would be great if breakfasts can have a bit more variations for long-staying visitors. (We stayed for 2 weeks) Maybe waffles instead of toast? Scrambled eggs? (If it is not too much trouble...) Still, a satisfying breakfast with an economical price.
We stayed on the top floor. The property has three floors. The top floor consists of one large bedroom with three beds and one small bathroom. Rooms are clean and smell good. Two double beds and one single bed. Sheets are very clean and I slept well during the whole stay. Small advice: the bed near the the desk is a bit too high and close to the ceiling. Grandpa felt a bit confined on the first night. Is there any way to reduce the height of the bed? We also had one closet to our own. The bathroom is cleaner that, or at least as clean as most of the hotels I have stayed in.
There is a small charge if you want to use washing machine. But short-stay visitors probably do not need that. There are also cleaning stores in the neighborhood.
The stairs are quite steep for elderly, but all right if you are careful enough.
It is good if you bring your own hair dryer. Apparently there is only one in the house. It was a bit troublesome having to borrow hair dryer all the time if you wash hair frequently. Though Neeta and Rashmi are more than willing to lend.
It is a vege house and Rashmi and Neeta are very strict about it for religious concerns. Please do respect them. It may also be great fun trying a vege lifestyle! (For instance, I have tried all different flavours of vege salads and sandwiches from Sainsbury's and feel quite like a Sainsbury's pre-made food expert after leaving London)
Rashmi and Neeta are very hospitable hosts. They really wanted us to feel at home. We also met their family since our visit coincided with Christmas and New Year holidays. They offered great advice for our stay in UK and tried their best to communicate with us despite language difference.
All in all, it is one of the most ideal rentals you could get in London with the same price.
Last, to Rashmi, Neeta and your children:
Thanks a lot for your hospitality. We enjoyed talking with you and eating together. We are really glad that we have made friends during our stay in London, besides sightseeing and shopping.
Thank you Rashmi for walking with Grandpa in the park and making him feel at ease, though it might be quite difficult to communicate without a common language.
Do come to Ningbo to visit us!
My best wishes with you all^_^

"Great stay, great value"
My husband, our three children, myself, and friends of ours (plus their son) all stayed at this lovely home in the Wembley area earlier this month. As other reviewers have noted, the house is immaculately clean and the rooms we stayed in were spacious. My family stayed in the family room on the top floor, which had two double beds and a single bed with an ensuite bathroom. Apart from it being quite warm (on the night of a heatwave), it was a very comfortable room. My friends said the same thing about their room on the floor below ours.
Neeta was extremely nice and looked after us very well. She even gave us her parking permit to park our minivan on the street. Breakfast was an assortment of breads and cereals with juice, instant coffee and tea. Neeta also picked plums off the tree in her back garden for us to have with breakfast.
We had four children in our group under the age of 9, and the quick walk to the nearby Tube station was no problem for any of them. Then it was only a 20-25 minute ride into central London.
If you're looking for an affordable place to stay near London, Neeta and Rashmi's home is great! We just hope to be able to meet Rashmi next time we're "in town."
