The East Anglia / Norfolk region

North Norfolk is an ideal tourist destination. Whether you enjoy the lively atmosphere and entertainment offered by traditional seaside resorts and Norwich city or the tranquility of the small fishing villages, which spring to life at high tide, you can't help but be impressed by the beautiful coastline, most of which is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty.
As you travel along the coast the scenery changes from cliffs to natural harbours, winding creeks, marshes, and large sandy beaches backed by sand dunes.
The region is also well served for family holidays with plenty of activities geared to children, safe sandy beaches, activity parks, and adventure pursuits. There are traditional seaside resorts with piers, ice cream and fish and chips and low price children's meals.
The nature reserves which are dotted along the coastline are an ideal place for ornithologists to watch migratory birds pass through.
There are also plenty of attractions to visit including historic buildings, art and craft centres, animal parks, steam railways and windmills.
The regions towns and villages are ideal places to explore. Their brick and flint buildings host a variety of interesting shops and tea rooms, as well as pubs and restaurants, where you can sample the local seafood.
The Norfolk Broads cover an area of 180 square miles and consist of 3 main rivers plus their tributaries. With the status of a national park the simple pleasures of bird watching, fishing, fresh air, peace and quiet, friendly hostelries, and messing about in boats are a pleasant change to everyday life.

Guestbook for The Rye
We have had a thoroughly wonderful time and had not expected the accommodation to be so perfect. Although we could not take full advantage of the BBQ and garden furniture, the weather has been fantastic. " The Rye " was perfectly placed for us to visit places all over North and South Norfolk. Most of all, we have not relaxed in such comfortable accommodation as we have here. Thank you !!! We will be back, no doubt at all.

We had a great holiday. The accommodation at The Rye is very high standard. Really enjoyed the garden and watching the birds feed and bath. We had fun on the beaches which were lovely, and a plus was watching the seals on the beach and in the sea. Hope to return again, there is so much to see and do.

We have really enjoyed our short break at The Rye. The accommodation is well presented and is to a very high standard. If we return to this area we would certainly enquire as to the availability of the bungalow.
Little touches we very much appreciated :
* The bed - very comfortable.
* Having a hairdryer supplied.
* Soap/ handwash in the bathroom and kitchen.
* Fresh flowers.
* Bird feeders outside kitchen window - good breakfast viewing.
* You popping in to say hello and to check all was well.
* Everything being very clean.

We have enjoyed our return visit to North Norfolk. " The Rye " was in pristine condition and very fully equipped. The location is ideal for touring through open countryside and beaches. The time of year precluded full use of the garden but it was pleasant to see the birds.
