About this location
The Oxfordshire region
The cottage is one of a group of 4 at the end of a quiet lane with ample parking at the front and a large private garden to the rear. Nearby are public footpaths across the fields to the neighboring villages. In Cassington ¾ mile away, two pubs can be found; one of the more traditional type and the other, a free house with a restaurant. Yarnton, 1 mile away, also has two pubs, both with restaurants. Oxford, with its shops and theatres, is only 5 miles away. There is a regular bus service to London from Oxford or a train from nearby Hanborough Station. Ten minutes' drive away is the historical town of Woodstock. Here lies Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Winston Churchill. Woodstock is also home to the Oxfordshire County Museum. Between Woodstock and Worton, is the village of Bladon where Churchill is buried. For the more active visitor, there are opportunities for walking, riding and sailing within easy reach, but for those who prefer the quiet life, then these properties provide the perfect place to relax. It is also an ideal place from which to explore the Cotswolds or Shakespeare's Stratford, or somewhere to stay when the various highlights of the English summer calendar are taking place, such as Henley Regatta, Cheltenham Races, the British Grand Prix and Blenheim Horse Trials. The cottages can be booked together for larger parties. Shops and pub 1 mile.

"Delightful property, great for a large group"
We stayed over Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were 9 adults, 3 toddlers and 4 babies and there was plenty of room for all of us...in clouding around the extremely large dining table for Christmas dinner! Peaceful location too, beautiful countryside views.

"Spacious cottage in a gorgeous rural location but also very accessible to Oxford."
The booking service was professional and efficient. The property itself was really large, with sleeping space for 12, all in proper beds not z-beds or sofa beds. Highlights of the property included a enormous dining table, beautiful decor, comfy beds, a stunning large garden and a heated pool. Four of the single beds were located in the attic, which would be a really fun space for young children. The cottage is located on a working farm complete with an organic cafe and farm animals, so there would be lots to entertain children, and nice walks for adults. Oxford City is about a 15 minute taxi ride away so we were able to combine some sight-seeing with the rural cottage experience. The highlights of the cottage were the care that had been taken to make us welcome - a home made chocolate cake on arrival, bottles of water in every room and ample tea, coffee etc. The only negative was that some of the showers were either really hot or really cold, nothing in between. But we were more than happy to have baths instead, which were perfect. If I ever need to go away with a large group again, I'd definitely consider this cottage, whether I was going with adult friends or with families with young children.

"Really great house, large lovely garden, amazing kitchen"
The house was large, clean and gorgeous. The garden was large and fantastic. A really great place to stay with extended family or friends. The kitchen especially was a perfect country farmhouse-type style. It's a little odd having one bathroom on a landing/hallway (with two doors to lock) and one bedroom is on a large landing, through which one has to pass to reach two bedrooms. However, overall, this was a real find! And a welcome farmshop cake awaited us. There are staff on hand to deal with any problems, as they live on site (but not too close).
