The South East England region

London is a vibrant, bustling city steeped in culture and history with many hidden treasures to discover. The list of things to do and places to see is endless. As the old saying goes ... ”if you are tired of London... you are tired of life!” The city of London is home to Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, the gothic buildings of Westminster, Big Ben and St Paul's Cathedral... just a few of the landmark places of interest to visit. There are a wide array of free galleries and museums that are very easy to access using the great public transport networks including buses, tubes and London's Black cabs.

Why not try visiting the Tate Gallery then taking a taxi boat along the river Thames, past the Houses of Parliament to visit Tate Modern on the South bank where there are a wealth of restaurants, cafes, market stalls and street performers as well as the London Eye and London Aquarium.

The Shopping in London is second to none. Whether you want to shop for luxury goods at Selfridges or Harrods, hit the high street shops of Oxford Street, the vintage shops at Covent Garden (seven dials) or explore the stalls of Brick lane, Camden and Borough markets, it is all at your door step. The West End is home to some of the world's greatest theatres with Soho, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus and China town all in walking distance. Perfect for a night out to catch a show and dine in one of the numerous top class restaurants on offer, from Michelin starred to one of the local gems, followed by a visit to one of the many bars or clubs to experience what London's night life has to offer.

North London

Close to Alexandra Park and Highgate Woods, with a village atmosphere and mainly Edwardian buildings. Muswell Hill has developed from the staid suburb it was in the 1950s to become fashionable with a host of trendy bars, restaurants, coffee shops and delicatessens.

There is also a weekly farmers' market at the foot of Muswell Hill in Alexandra Park. The cinema is art deco, built in the 1930s. Muswell Hill is located in the London borough of Haringey.

London is not so much a city, as the world's biggest village. – Or if not a village, then 33 small cities, each with their own governments, schools, centres, suburbs, and proud sense of identity and history. Each borough has a member of parliament who votes in the national government, and a local council that collects taxes and provides essential services.

Haringey is famous for its literary connections such as Sir John Betjeman, who lived in West Hill as a child and also Karl Marx who is buried in nearby Highgate Cemetery. In the Western half of the borough stands Alexandra Palace, the last great Victorian exhibition space in Europe and the birth place of television. It boasts panoramic views over London and plays host to many major annual events. The Parkland Walk links Alexandra Palace to Finsbury Park, home to the famous Fleadh annual open air music event.

"A really lovely flat that is contemporary, clean, quiet and secure!!"

We spent ten wonderful days at Alicia's flat. It is a beautiful apartment that is contemporary and well maintained. A lot of thought has been put into the interior design with lots of storage and attention to detail. It was very comfortable for the 3 of us. It is located in a very nice residential area that is close to Muswell Hill shopping area and Highgate Underground station. There is also on street parking should you need a car. The flat is also very secure with good locking mechanism at doors and windows which made us feel safe. The cable TV and the high speed internet made the stay even more enjoyable. And Alicia the host is so pleasant and helpful. I would love to go back again when I'm in London next time. Thanks Alicia for your hospitality!

"Contemporary, newly refurbished gem in charming Muswell Hill."

I had the pleasure of living in Alicia's flat for 1 year. The flat is beautiful, modern and very spacious, and would be more than comfortable for a young professional or a couple. The flat is situated very close to both the Muswell Hill Broadway and Crouch End, which both have all the amenities you could possibly need, including great shops and coffee! Getting into town is very easy, from either the bus stop at the top of the road or from Highgate tube station (both of which lead to London Bridge or Tottenham Court Road). There are several parks near the flat, and the area is beautiful to walk around in. I highly recommend this flat, and living in Muswell Hill. Alicia is a pleasure to deal with and is very accommodating and helpful. She cares very much about the flat and if ever there is an issue (which there seldom is as the flat has recently been renovated), she takes care of it immediately. Whoever chooses to rent this flat will be very lucky. The spot is a gem!
