Home description
Garden Lodge is a large modern conversion of part of a former horticultural college (owners residence attached) it is set within four acres of gardens and the owner’s small Nursery.
Garden Lodge makes an ideal holiday location, being situated half way between the coast (10 miles) and the historic city of Norwich (approx.9 miles) which offers a wide variety of interest from its ancient castle and cathedral, to its excellent shopping facilities and its thriving riverside nightlife. The Norfolk Broads are all within a few miles of the property, and are a haven for those who enjoy boating, fishing and the beauty of the waterways. The east coast offers lovely sandy beaches, including the lively resort of Great Yarmouth (10 miles), and the quieter beaches at Winterton and Sea Palling. Shops, pubs and restaurants 2 ½ miles.
If you need to accommodate more than 10 the owners also have a DOUBLE EN SUITE BED & BREAKFAST room that can be hired separately - this allows catering for a maximum of 12 adults in total - please call for details.
As we want our guests to have an extra special break we will offer to take delivery of your online grocery shopping and put it away prior to your arrival so that you can arrive to the cupboards and fridge stocked with your favourite things.
Bringing the children? We can put you in touch with a reliable CRB checked babysitter so that you can take a break and maybe have a grown up’s only evening out?
A meal out - need to pre-book a restaurant or taxi? As bookings usually start on Fridays guests could find that the best restaurants are booked up for the peak weekend evenings ... we can recommend places suitable for your party and give you their details prior to arrival so that you can make guaranteed reservations.
…. Or maybe its a special occasion and you want be indulgent and have a dinner party arranged at Garden Lodge? - We will put you in touch with a highly reputable experienced catering company to do just that.
Hen weekend or just a girly getaway? - What about a qualified beauty therapist coming over to pamper you with anything from a manicure to an aromatherapy massage - a full brochure is available.

A prime holiday area with attractions for all tastes, fantastic coastline with excellent sandy beaches. The broads national park - wonderful for lovers of wildlife, fishing and boating. The City of Norwich - a great shopping centre and a historic city with much to see and do. Great nightlife too!
North Burlingham area
Nearby to good restaurants and pubs, a short distance to Wroxham 'the heart of the broads' where you can hire a boat, explore the rivers an maybe moor at one of the many riverside pubs for lunch? Fantastic beaches either at the lively resort of Great Yarmouth with many attractions and amusements for the children or to one of the quiet sandy beaches - superb for a relaxing time away from a hectic everyday life.
How to get there
From London, take the M11 followed by the A11 to Norwich. On reaching the A47 Norwich southern bypass take the A47 east towards Great Yarmouth. At the Blofield/Brundall roundabout take the first exit continuing along the A47, the road will go to single carriageway after about 1.5 miles. Continue for a further 1.5 miles then take the slip road off to the left signposted North Burlingham. Garden Lodge is situated at The Old College which can be found at the end of the village being the last gateway on the left just after British Wildflower Plants.

A damage deposit of £100 is payable 1 week before arrival and will be returned 1 week after departure (subject to full property inspection). No smoking inside cottage.
