The farmhouse has been the subject of recent internal modernisation to a very high specification. This includes three double sized bedrooms, comfortable sitting room, dining facilities in the cool cellar, shower room, bathroom and a newly fitted kitchen. The views from all rooms face across the hills and valleys of Monferato. The village of San Marzano Oliveto has spectacular views of the Italian Alps, with hill top villages and vineyards of Barbera, Cabernet, Merlot and Moscato grapes as far as the eye can see. The local wineries provide wine tasting, complimenting the wide range of reasonably priced restaurants in the local area, making a visit to this region of Italy a gastronomic delight.

The North West Italy / Piedmont/Lake Maggiore region
San Marzano Oliveto is set in an elevated position within the Monferato Hills and is ideally situated for visiting the cities of Milan, Genoa and Turin. The beautiful Italian lakes are just an hour and fifteen minutes to the North and the Italian Riviera an hour to the South. The local area is regarded as being one of the primary wine production regions in Italy where the local wines are the rich ruby red Barbera and the sweet Moscato.
Nizza Monferrato / San Marzano Oliveto area
This area is still not a prime tourist area, so visitors are always well received as guests and can expect a warm welcome where ever they go. Visiting the local wineries is a must for all wine lovers. However, there is a wide variety of restaurants with superb selections of meats and fish cooked in a wealth of traditional recipes to compliment the wines. There are a number of private and public swimmimg pools to visit during the Summer. There is the beautiful spa town of Aqui Terme a twenty minute drive from the farmhouse where it is claimed the ice cream sold at the top of the water fall in the square is the best in Italy, as well as large pedestian areas to stroll and shop till you drop - if you wish!
Everywhere you go , there are hills and acres and acres of vineyards. Most of the hills have villages to visit where the local bars and restaurants always give you a warm welcome.
