About this location

The Ionian Islands region

The island of Corfu is located just off the West coast of Greece. It is the greenest of the Ionian Islands, and probably also the well known. The island enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate and offers a beguiling landscape of wild flowers, cypress trees, local vegitation and over 2 million olive trees.

Corfu is surrounded by a beautiful and varied coastline. It has the precise balance of long sandy beaches, pebble beaches, secluded shingle coves, some of which can only be reached by boat, and high cliffs which are the perfect resting point to take in some of the spectacular sunsets.

The island’s old town, built largely by the Venetians during their rule in the 15th Century, with its stunning architecture is an attraction in itself. With it’s esplanades and piazzas, it is a cosmopolitan place enjoyed by young and old alike.

In 2007 Corfu’s old town was inscribed in UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

The small fishing villages and beach-side tavernas offer a fine selection of traditional greek cuisine to suit all tastes.

The island has something to offer to everybody from museums and monuments to night clubs, restaurants and walking/hiking trails.

Nissaki is a quiet village with a small horseshoe-shaped beach in the North East of Corfu island.

?The area’s name, Nissaki (or Nisaki), means "Small Island" and, as the older people say,

the name derived from the existence of a tiny island close to the harbour. That tiny island has since joined with the main land and a taverna is now located on top of it.

Nissaki’s crystal clear waters and surrounding greenery make it an idyllic location. It provides remoteness and isolation in combination with ease of access to local shops and traditional tavernas with excellent food.

Covering a coastal area of over 3 kilometers and incorporating 3 beaches with crystal clear water, Nissaki offers activities like water sports, boat hire and walking/hiking on the Nissaki - Corfu trail, the Old Sinies village and the surrounding area.

Boat hire is popular and the best way to enjoy the many small coves which are excellent for snorkeling and often inaccessible by car. Each beach has a couple of traditional waterside tavernas where you can sit dining with your toes almost in the waters of the Ionian Sea. There is also a good selection of eateries on the main road always with stunning sea views from their dining areas.

Nissaki’s tiny harbour is also used by the village's fishing boats which complements the whole picturesque image of the village.

During the night small bars are open offering drinks and refreshments. There are not night clubs with loud music however.

For those that seek this kind of entertainment popular destinations with active night life like Kalami, Barbati and Ipsos are only 10-20 minutes away by car.

Mount Pantokrator, above the village, makes a dramatic back drop and a visit to the top and its monastery is a must for the views and the quaint inland villages.

The popular bay of Agni is just a few kilometers down the road and the taverna “Agni” offers an evening water taxi service from and to Nissaki’s harbour as well as a trip to Corfu Town twice a week.

"WOW - a magnificent villa, honestly and accurately advertised - SUPERB."

We simply cannot wait to go back having had an all round fabulous experience. The villa was perfect, beautifully positioned with unbelievable views, privacy, space, quality and all the mod cons. The owners were on hand, very friendly and helpful speaking excellent English. The area is quiet and picturesque with lots of little shops, an abundance of quality taverns and easy to reach beaches and views. The villa is surprisingly spacious and is very accurately photographed and described – a pleasant surprise. It was clean, everything worked, and the views simply have to be seen to be believed. We will definitely be returning and I would enthusiastically recommend these Villas to anyone.

"Absolutely brilliant; can't speak highly enough!"

The most breathtaking holiday spot I have ever been in, coupled with a beautiful villa, and hosted by two Greek goddesses. Up here, against the shoulder of Mount Pantokratos, it's easy to hear the gods playing with mortals. The views across the bay below, all the way to Corfu City and, to the left, to Albania, made my spirit soar. I could BREATHE hear; the light, the atmosphere, the place itself, raised me back to face the world of business again. Thank you, Eirina and Dora. The villa was spotlessly clean, beautifully looked after, and your friendliness a delight. I will be back!
