The Ionian Islands region

Corfu is one of the most popular of the Ionian Islands. It is a very green island, literally covered in olive trees. The town of Corfu (or Kerkyra as it is locally known) impresses and charms the visitor with its two forts, narrow streets, tall houses, and Venetian-built Town Hall. Flooded with sights, Corfu is a small paradise on Earth, from breathtaking Paleokastritsa to Kanoni, from the Achillion to Pontikonissi. Beaches are plenty and range from soft sand to fine shingle - the crystal clear waters making snorkeling a delight. Corfu really does have something to offer all holiday tastes.

Nissaki is a small pretty resort with a horseshoe-shaped beach, offering excellent swimming and water sports. There are several tavernas specialising in local cuisine. A small harbour shelters the many little fishing boats that are moored there and there is a jetty/collection point for the Taverna Agni water taxi which offers an evening service to Taverna Agni and a twice-weekly trip to Corfu Town.

"Comfortable Villa Stunning Views"

Have just returned from a weeks holiday and would have loved to have stayed longer. The Villa is gorgeous with outstanding views just like the photos from the balcony and the pool - we hadn't realised the pool was on the roof but this made it quiet and very private. The pool is beautiful - it was hot during our stay but there are umbrellas both on the balcony and pool area and we followed the dappled shade from the trees around the pool which was lovely. Nissaki is smaller than we imagined there are about 8 tavernas/places to eat but they are spread out 3 on the main road which was not that great to walk along - mostly there isn't a pavement, but it only took about 15 mins. It would be useful to have a torch. If you go down to the beach its only 5 mins on the road - all the tavernas we ate in were great we couldn't fault any of our meals. The Katerina supermarket is just below the Villa which makes getting supplies very easy and the family that run it also own the Villa and will sort any problems you might have. All members of the family were very friendly and welcoming. The bus stops just outside and takes you along the coast to Kassiopi or to Corfu town this does gets busy but was good value and we did go to Kassiopi which was very nice. Nissaki beach is the smallest beach I've ever seen but the water is fantastic clear and so blue. There are other little coves but they are difficult to clamber down to you probably have more luck if you hire a boat. However we spent the majority of our time by the pool going down to the beach for a short while late afternoon. Overall we had a relaxing holiday in a very pretty greek village.
