A simple but spacious ground-floor apartment (56 sq. metres) consisting of a double bedroom, a sitting/dining room, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with shower, toilet and washing machine. Visitors have the use of a pretty garden and a front patio where they can eat, read or just relax in the sunshine. Tables, chairs and sun beds are provided.
The apartment is cool in summer and warm in winter (and we don't charge for central heating). The village of Rodilhan is situated within the 'Agglo de Nimes', an area which rubs shoulders with Provence and the Camargue. Within a 5 minute walk from the apartment there are 2 bakers, a small grocers, a newsagents, a chemist and a pizza bar. The location is ideal for visits to the Pont du Gard, Nîmes centre, the Camargue, Avignon, Arles, Orange and the Cevennne mountains. The Languedoc-Roussillon region
The Languedoc Roussillon Region of France is considered to be a Mediterranean gem filled with breathtaking coastline, some of France's best cuisine, rich Roman and Medieval history and amazing architecture including Roman arenas and theatres, castles and cathedrals.
Bordering Provence to the east and Spain to the west, the Languedoc Roussillon region is varied, charming and beautiful. Some of France's most up and coming wines are from this region.
The Gard department has a distinctly 'Provençal' feel to it - thanks to its sharing a border with both Provence and the famous 'Camargue' marsh region, famed for flamingoes, wild horses and bulls. It has a Mediterranean coastline, a fertile plain which produces excellent wines and soft fruits, as well as more mountainous landscapes with lovely villages of stone houses.
The area was settled by the Romans in classical times. It was crossed by the Via Domitia, which was constructed in 118 BC. Nimes' 'Maison Carre' Roman temple and 'Les Arenes' Roman amphitheatre are two of the best examples of Roman architecture left in the world and the Pont du Gard the largest remaining Roman aqueduct. Aigues-Mortes was built in the 13th Century by Louis IX as a new port for France, until rising silt rendered it an inland ghost-town. It is well worth a visit as the town walls are complete and surrounded by salt marshes.
There are several UNESCO World Heritage sites within easy reach of the apartment.

We were made to feel very welcome in this lovely flat. Meg and Neil went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. Meg's delicious meal on the first evening was wonderful and made us feel instantly at home in the area. The maps and suggestions for days out were brilliant. The flat was luxurious with plenty of hot water and other welcome facilities such as a washing machine and wi-fi. Overall the rental was very good value for money, but the friendliness and help provided by the owners was beyond price.
We were both so pleased to receive your kind review. Although the apartment offers basic accommodation at a reasonable cost, we do try to ensure that it is comfortable and meets our clients' needs. Thank you so much for your lovely review!

"Lovely apartment - could not have asked for better"
Meg and Neil's apartment is lovely and they are very accommodating hosts, who could not do enough for us. The garden is beautiful and we could have spent our whole holiday relaxing in it. It was the perfect spot to end our evenings with a glass (or two) of wine. The apartment is easily accessible for Nimes and the surrounding area particularly if you have a car. We didn't but did use the bus service from Rhodilan into Nimes. We would definitely recommend this and will hopefully be back!
We're very pleased that you enjoyed the garden and we were happy that there was some shade when we needed it during the heatwave! It pleases us to think that you returned home happy and relaxed.

"Good place to stay"
We spent 4 nights here, regret it wasn't longer! Meg and Neil are gracious hosts and their apartment is comfortable and well equipped. It's in a quiet village a few kilometers outside Nimes and easily accessible. The apartment is the ground floor of the house with Neil/Meg living in the upstairs accommodation. A pleasant back garden/patio is available for warmer months. Furnishings are modern, high quality and comfortable. Meg provides a good deal of tourist information for the area which was very helpful, along with directions to shops, gas stations etc. We'd be happy to stay here again.
We're very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and that you found our information useful. It was a pleasure to have you visit and stay in our apartment.

"Comfortable stay. Perfect for day trips in South France"
We stayed here for nine nights and we found it very pleasant and comfortable. Apartment was clean and all rooms were well looked after. It certainly made you feel at home. One minor thing - more storage needed in the kitchen for all the food and wine! Otherwise, properly facilitated kitchen and bathroom. The lovely little back garden was a treat for morning and evening meals. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful in answering all of our questions about the accommodation and the region. They prepared a superb information display of all the surronding areas and towns (no need to bring any guidebook!). However to see Provence and Gard, you definitely need wheels and this is the perfect location for day trips to see all the sights of this beautiful part of the world.
Thank you for your review. We'll certainly look into obtaining a wine rack for guests!

"The perfect place to relax"
We really enjoyed our time here. We like being able to cook for ourselves and being able to eat out in the garden was perfect. It's cool in the summer, clean and lots of room to spread out. We used both the local bus into nimes and had a rental car. The bus is a bit spotty in the summer, but it didn't stop us from getting around. Having a car here was easy, since I didn't have to be concerned about getting in and out of the big city. Meg has spent a lot of time laying out information about local sites and scenic routes to make the most of your time here. Meg and Neil were most accommodating; their willingness to pick us up at the beginning and drop us off at the end in Nimes was very much appreciated. We had a lovely time here. You are great hosts!
We are so pleased that your stay was enjoyable and that you managed to visit the most important sites around this lovely area.

"A great apartment in a central location for the Carmargue"
The apartment was clean and well equipped - large bedroom -small sitting room with a sofa that could fold down to another bed - kitchen has a good oven and also a microwave- even storage containers that we took out for salad- everything you could possibly want for self catering. The location is a quiet residential area- able to get good nights sleep. Anyone wanting a vibrant night life would have to go to Nimes, which is an easy drive away. We enjoyed warm evenings in the garden or a stroll in the local area. When we stayed there was a local festival of the bull - local people friendly and welcoming. Local patisserrie and grocers and supermarkets for any food shopping. The location is ideal if you are happy to travel to what you want to see- no more than an hours drive to explore various parts of the commargue and towns like avignon and arles - great for wild life and following the footsteps of artists like Van Gough. The Proprietors live upstairs and are very willing to help out if asked with any problems- we lost our return boarding tickets and they let us use their internet connection to print some more off. They also comprised a file of interesting days out and were a great source of information. Only disappointment was that no English speaking channels on the TV! - had to brush up on the French language.
We are very pleased that our clients enjoyed their stay in our apartment. It means a lot to us to know that visitors have enjoyed their holiday to the full.
