Bien Venue!!

Nice Florence is literally your "Room With A View"! Perfectly appointed and perfectly formed, Nice Florence welcomes you. This beautiful space can be your base from which to explore this jewel of the Cote d'Azur - NICE.

Savor the true flavour of the French Riviera. Nice invites the discerning traveller to bask beside her sun baked coastal waters and experience her stylish Mediterranean chic. One of the most breathtaking coastal drives in the world can be experienced en route from Nice to Monaco.

The Promenade des Anglais is the city's prestigious bayside thoroughfare, encapsulating an aura of gentile sophistication beneath softly swaying palms. Fine hotels, restaurants, cocktail bars and Casinos hug the shores of the Baie des Anglais long flat promenade. Imagine a shoreline lapped by clear turquoise waters beneath an azure blue sky. Take in the Mardi Gras Carnival in February, the Festival de Jazz in July or one of the rock concerts at the Palais Nikaia.

Nice is a true haven for the art lover, opera enthusiast, history buff & music aficionado. If you are a party animal, jazz devotee, gastronome or lover of wine, this is the place for you. For the serious sun worshipper, Coco Chanel made the sun tan the must have holiday accessory in this very resort and Nice has been a vanguard of vogue ever since! Shops are plentiful & varied, catering for a wide variety of tastes and pockets. Bijou boutiques, chic department stores, skilled

couturiers & artisan food emporiums vie to tempt the senses. Wander through the quaint cobbled streets of Vieux Nice & visit the small galleries and picture framing shops. Inhale the rich aromas from the purveyors of fine cigars & hand made chocolates. Taste the rich variety of lovingly produced cheeses married with warm baguettes fresh from the oven.

The Marche aux Poissons fish market offers fresh local catches of the day every morning apart from Monday. A must see are the local antique and fragrant flower markets. Wander around the charming harbour with its yachts and pretty sail boats bobbing in the blue. Drift into the bar of the splendid Hotel Negresco for a colonial style cocktail and reflect on a bygone era of elegant sophistication. Nice has been a favorite with history's smart set for over 200 years.

The clarity and brilliance of the light of the Cote d'Azur has meant that Nice has for centuries enjoyed an intense and historic relationship with the art world. Marc Chagall and Henri Matisse to name but a few had long associations with the city and found the unique environment beneficial to their artistic inspiration. Visit the purpose built Musee National Message Biblique Marc Chagall en route to Cimiez. In the Old Town, Rue Droite houses many contemporary artists' studios, framing shops and galleries. The Museum of Modern Art on Promenade des Arts is also a must see.

Theatre, folk dancing troops, street performers and open air craft sellers all combine to enrich the experience of visitors to Nice on all sensory levels. In the mornings indulge yourself in a pot of freshly brewed coffee with buttery croissants & jam. Devour fragrant cheeses and local delicately cured hams with a rustic baguette. Continental breakfast at its best!

Nice is only one of a handful of the world's cities that has a beach a mere minutes away from the centre. The tram service is excellent as are the buses and trains. Car hire is not a necessity in Nice. Nice is within easy reach of other French Riviera resorts such as Cannes and Menton. Nearby, the principality of Monaco with Monte Carlo's famous casinos and luxury restaurants and hotels beckons. Grimaldi royal personages and palaces with echoes of their fairytale Princess Grace make for a wonderful historical and scenic place to visit.

Take a gentle stroll along the promenade and listen to the rush of the sea, the call of seabirds and distant summer jazz. Gaze out at the big blue - Nice is for you!

Off the entrance hall to the right, is the master bedroom with king size double bed unusual in France, TV, bedside chests and wardrobes. An ensuite shower, vanity unit and WC. There is a balcony off the bedroom looking onto La Providence and towards the St Augustin church.

The living room looks out across Vieux Nice to the hills and onto the Clocktower symbol of the old town. Sofa, SONY TV plus SONY playstation which works as a DVD player - incl Blue ray, chairs, dining table and open plan kitchen with everything you will need.

We use the second bedroom as a study but it contains a high quality double sofa bed, with super easy open/close and should you need 2 bedrooms it is fully self contained with a full bathroom opening off it, large bath, vanity unit and WC

There is Wi Fi avail, The apartment is tiled and beautifully appointed. We spend winter here so everything works.

Further details outdoors

Nice is a city best viewed by foot / tram bus or train. We do not recommend driving round Nice as it is not car friendly especially the Old Town which is mainly a car free zone.

Parking round the city and nearby cities is difficult - cars are impounded if left after the allocated time. The French also use their bumpers to get into tight spaces so you can expect damage to your car bumpers if you park outside. The 100 bus is a briilliant way to go east to Monaco and Villefranche. The train is best going west to Antibes / Cannes. In summer traffic along the coast is very heavy - the train gets there quickly with a recently much improved service throughout the day.

Down the stairs in Place St Francois is a recently modernised public swimming pool.

Further details

We love animals so small dogs may be allowed if you ask .

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region

From Nice, there are frequent train and bus services to several nearby towns and cities, that are all well worth a visit:

-San Trope

-Italian Riverea

-Ville France

The complex is in the heart of the old town, which has plenty of bars, cafes, and shops.

The beach and the promenade are only 5 minutes walk away.

It is worth visiting the antique market and flower market, on your way to the beech.
