Home description
Le Perchoir - a typical village house - sits in a narrow street, leading down from the 13th century Grimaldi castle at the top of the hill. The balcony offers both a sea view and a view of the old village houses.
From the street, you enter into the combined living-room/kitchen, which also serves as a dining-room. The lovely Provencal kitchen - as well as all of the house - is fully renovated and well equipped. In this charming house, there is a little staircase here, and another one there. Walk up from the kitchen, and you will first get to a landing with the master bathroom, equipped with a tub, a shower, a wash basin and a toilet. Steps lead up to a loft with a double bed.
Another set of stairs takes you up to the little living-room, which opens onto the balcony, with a view to the sea. Back in the kitchen, you walk down a short staircase to get to the master bedroom, and the guest room. The master bedroom sleeps two, while the walk-through guest room can accommodate one person. On this floor, there is also a small bathroom with a shower.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
The French Riviera really has it all - sun and sea, art, food, wines, shopping and sports. Tour the museums and galleries, or go shopping in Nice, Cannes and St Tropez. Go skiing in Isola 2000 or Auron - it is only 1,5 hours from Haut de Cagnes. Or go hiking in the magnificent mountains just above the coast.
Go visit all the wonderful vineyards. There is something for everyone! The area is also famous for it´s temperate climate. The summers are hot, the winters mild. Average temperatures in summer are 23-27° C, and in winter 13-16°.
Nice / Cagnes Sur Mer area
Haut de Cagnes, part of the seaside resort Cagnes sur Mer, is a wonderful historical village, perched on a hilltop between Nice and Antibes, and overlooking the coastline between Cap Ferrat and Cap d´Antibes. Coming here is like walking a couple of hundred years back in time. Most people fall in love with it, some even find it magic. There are no tourist shops, but around 10-15 restaurants, a bar and a jazz club. The "Place du Château" is the heart of the village, and here you find the obligatory "boule" arena.
Take a short walk (around 5 minutes) and you get to the modern part of Cagnes sur Mer, where you find one of the best covered Provencal markets of the Riviera. There are also two supermarkets, banks, lots of shops, vegetable stands etc.
The Renoir Villa, where the renowned impressionist artist retired, is only a walking distance away. Many artist, writers and other creative people have lived in Haut de Cagnes - Yves Klein and Georges Simenon are two examples.
The maire of Cagnes sur Mer is ambitious, and has turned the town into an attractive seaside resort. We now have our own Promenade or Croisette, just like Nice and Cannes. The wide boardwalk along the beach is lined with pine and palm trees. On the other side of the sea road, the restaurants proudly present their terraces for outdoor eating, most of them with a beautiful view to the sea.
How to get there
Fly in with Easyjet, Ryanair, Transavia - and all the big airlines. Train to Antibes or Nice. The A8 motorway if you come by car. We are 15 min from Nice airport, 20-30 min from Antibes, Cannes, and Nice
