Beautiful detached villa situated in the hills above Nice with panoramic views of the Valley of the Var and the Alpes Maritimes mountains. It is only 20 mins drive from Nice Cote D'Azur airport, and a short walk from the villages of Colomars and St. Roman de Bellet. If you don't want to drive then there is a half hourly bus service into the centre of Nice.
The villa has recently been completely refurbished and now has refurbished air conditioning and a brand new kitchen with all mod cons. Two of the bedrooms are en suite and there is a 3rd bathroom with a large walk in shower and wc. . Outside there is a large pool(8 x 4 sq metres) flanked by a decked sun terrace with all day sunny aspect and spectacular views of the mountains; leisure facilities include table tennis, snooker and darts board ; BBQ. The extensive terraced gardens icorporate a charming olive grove..
This property is perfect for family holidays as it provides a haven of peace and quiet and yet is situated close to Nice for nights out, the beach and excellent shopping. The local village of Colomars has all the amenities you would expect including mini-market, bakery, butchers, pharmacy, newsagent, doctors, bar tabac, and 2 lovely restaurants.
Local sporting facilities include a 9 hole 'compact' golf course, tennis club and numerous spectacular walking routes.

The house is set on a forested hillside and is surrounded by an extensive terraced garden which incorporates a charming olive grove.
The local village is a gentle 15 minutes stroll or 3 mins in the car, and there are 2 buses an hour into Nice and/or futher up the mountain to the fortified village of Aspremont.
5 mins away over the hill are the vinyards of Bellet - one of the best kept secrets in French wines.
Carrefour hypermarket is in a retail park just 10 mins away at the bottom of the valley.

Close to good beaches and also Mercantour National Park for walking, stunning scenery and outdoor activities.
The Nice / St Roman de Bellet area
The nearby village Colomars has a thriving local community with a saturday market , local shops and auberge with a wonderful restaurant.
Nice is a great place for a night out, shopping, a trip to the beach, or for a dose of culture at the opera or its world famous museums and galleries.
It has a mardi gras celebration in February and is within striking distance of Monte Carlo (grand prix) and Cannes (film festival).
In the ski season we are just 75 mins from the resorts of Valberg, Isola 2000, Auron and Limone. (the 'snow bus' leaves from Nice station most mornings in the season)
The local area is renowned for its spectacular walking and mountain biking routes and is less than an hour from The Mercantour National Park and the incredible Gorges de Verdun

We arrived at Villa Condelo at night so didn't appreciate the fantastic location until we woke up the next morning, and looked out to the snow capped alps in the distance. It was magnificent. The villa is set in spacious grounds, is very private and is not overlooked. The great thing about this villa is that it is in such a peaceful location but only 20 minutes down to the sights of Nice and the sea. It is advantageous to have a car but there is the option of a regular bus service into Nice which only costs a euro each way. Whilst the villa is self catering there are a couple of excellent restaurants in the nearby village of Colomars, including the local Auberge du Redier. We used to walk into the village each morning to the boulangerie for our breakfast croissants and lovely baguettes. We found the villa very clean and well equiped with a good library and internet access. There is also a table tennis table and pool table and of course a very good sized swimming pool, lovely to sit around in the evenings sipping the local rose wine and appreciating the view. We plan to return in the Spring for a walking holiday as Aspremont and Colomars are the starting point for several walking and cycling trails. Also we can imagine that the villa would be very cosy in the cooler months as it has a wood burning stove in the lounge. We look forward to our next visit. |

The info and photo's on the web site were accurate, and when we arrived we were delighted. The location is fantastic, peaceful with stunning views. The house was clean and very well equiped, we wanted for nothing and there were 8 of us! The pool was a good size and we spent alot of time playing water vollyball in full sunshine. We would all recommend Villa Condelo it was everything we hoped for. |
