Lovely stretches of sandy beaches are located in Villefranche-sur-mer (a fishing harbor and site of a 16th century citadelle) and St. Juan les Pins (renown for its jazz festival). St. Jean Cap Ferrat is a prestigious haven for international celebrities and home to Villa Ephrussi de Rothchild and Beaulieu-sur-mer has an impressive yacht harbor and discreet palm-lined beaches. Cagnes-sur-Mer is surmounted by a picturesque village and 14th C. castle and a Renoir museum.
