There is so much to experience on the Riviera if you can tear yourself away from Nice. From the railway station at the top of the road you can take a train and be in Ventimiglia for Friday market or San Remo for Saturday market. A five minute bus trip from the port will find you in Villefranche perhaps for Sunday antique market and lunch.
In the opposite direction a trip to St Paul de Vence will reward you with a memorable day walking through cobbled streets filled with interesting shops and art galleries. Rest awhile in the main Square with a drink and watch the locals play petangue.
Along the coast is Juan les pins which has a lovely sandy beach and great for a day out. Cannes is also worth a visit especially during the Fim Festival. There are just too many wonderful places to visit, just get a guide book and away you go!
