The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
Sightseeing: is endless; at this location you are very close to the town of Nice with it’s Promenade des Anglais, the port, the old town, bars, restaurants and festivals. You are even closer to the hilltop village of Carros where you will find some lovely restaurants and viewpoints.
Other entertainment: the nearby towns of Gattieres and Vence are also worth a visit. Monaco is a must if you haven’t been and can be accessed via the A8 autoroute. The Italian border is also not too far away!
Nice / Castagniers area
Local shops: the nearest village, shops, supermarkets & boulangeries can be found at Castagniers or Carros approximately 5km away, and the nearest restaurant 2km.
Local markets: are held in Nice approximately 18km away.
Sporting activities: in the area are abundant– there is golf, tennis, horse riding, fishing, water sports and the beach. You are also in very close proximity to the mountains and hills of The Alpes Maritimes region here, which makes walking and cycling very popular.
Ski stations: Valberg, Isola 2000 and Auron are approximately 1 hour’s drive away if you fancy a couple of day’s winter sports!
How to get there
By Car – The roads and autoroutes in France are a pleasure, so driving can sometimes make a good alternative to flying – at least you’ll already have your car with you! From the UK you have the choice of using the ferries or the Eurotunnel for your crossing. Once in the South of France, Villa Violette can be easily accessed from the A8 autoroute.
By Air – Nice-Cote d’Azur is the nearest international airport – approximately 20 kilometres away. There are daily flights from the UK with British Airways, British Midland, Easyjet and Jet2.
By Train – Eurostar runs from London to Paris city centres and then the high speed TGV service runs from Paris to Nice.

Living room: is spacious with comfortable sofas for 6 people, a double sided fire, TV (International), Home Cinema, DVD player, and Hi-Fi.
Dining room: is adjacent to the living room and has a dining table, 4 chairs, the other side of the fire, doors out to the swimming pool and a staircase leading to a galleried office/study.
Kitchen: is very well equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and coffee machine. There is also a breakfast area in one corner and French doors out to the dining terrace.
Utility room: is in the basement with a washing machine, dryer, iron & ironing board.
Bedrooms: there are 3 bedrooms upstairs on the first floor and 2 bedrooms downstairs on the basement level. Two of the upstairs bedrooms are doubles, one having a walk-in-wardrobe and a balcony, and the third bedroom has bunk beds and a pullout mattress underneath. Both basement bedrooms are doubles. Most of the bedrooms have beautiful antique beds and wardrobes.
Bathrooms: on the ground floor there is a shower room and separate WC, on the first floor there is a bathroom with bath, double hand basins and a separate WC, and on the basement level there is a WC.

Outside: there are secure gates and a long driveway, leading through gardens up to the villa. There is parking for 3 or 4 cars and the villa is set on some 7000 sq metres planted with pines and olive trees. There is a large dining terrace (32 sq metres) from the kitchen with a teak table, chairs for 10 people, other teak garden furniture, a barbecue and wood fired oven.
Swimming pool: is totally private and secure and approximately 8 x 4 metres. There are 5 poolside loungers.

Internet: connection is available for your laptop. Telephone: is not available at this villa – sorry. Baby facilities: there is a cot available upon request. Winter heating: there is a charge of 70 Euros per week for winter heating. Electric, & water: are included in the rental cost. End-of-stay cleaning: there is a charge of 80 Euros payable directly to the owners. Bed & bathroom linen: it is usual in France to take your own bedroom & bathroom linen with you, however it is possible to rent these from the owner upon request, at a price of 10 Euros per person, per week. Taxe de Sejour: it is sometimes necessary in France to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay, however it is not requested at this villa. Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 1000 Euros on arrival. This will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages. Change over day: is normally a Monday but the owners may be flexible upon request. Long weekend stays: are not possible at this villa – sorry. Pets: small ones are permitted at this villa. Smoking: is not permitted inside this villa – sorry.
