This one bedroom, 4 bed, lovely 1870s listed 'Belle Epoque' building in a designated preservation area (Le Carre D'Or) forms part of a recent refurbishment of a neoclassical building (inc Lift) on the Rue de France.

Fantastic location, near a French bakery on Nice's famous first old road,the Rue de France, situated in the 'Golden Quarter' of Nice. Literally a leisurely 1 minute walk to the sea front & beach. Situated on a quiet side street. Benefits of both wi-fi and cable TV and washing machine.

Situated on the second floor of this lovely bijou conversion on the Rue de France, the apartment is accessed via the street into a classic marble hallway with feature staircase and building lift. Upon reaching the second floor the apartment is found to the side of the building and off the main street yet getting the sun in the afternoon and evening.

Upon entering the apartment there is a hallway with solid oak flooring and access to a brand new high quality marble bathroom offering WC, sink, heated towel rail, and shower cubicle incorporating a power shower. At the end of the hall is the main living accommodation comprising:

A fully fitted kitchen including fridge, microwave oven, 4 ring cooker and washing machine;

Dining area with cast iron tiled table and chairs; A sitting area with a convertible sofa bed (with hotel quality mattress), TV, DVD player and CD stereo;

Wall heaters for the winter and air-conditioning system for the summer.

The accommodation offers one bedroom sleeping two with a further two beds available from the quality sofa bed available in the lounge.

Old Nice is only a leisurely 8 minutes walk away with its vibrant markets, exquisite restaurants, and cafe culture. The apartment is also only a 20 minute walk from the central train station making it to the attractions of Cannes, St Tropez, Eze, Menton, Antibes, and the glamorous Monte Carlo. St Tropez is best accessed by boat from Nice port to avoid the traffic jams.

Close to all the best restaurants, cafe culture, street entertainers, designer shopping boutiques (like Chanel, Armani, Karen Millen, and many more), famous museums (Matisse etc) and transport links. Le Carré d'Or, or 'Golden Square' is the elegant section of the pedestrian zone of central Nice, which begins at the Promenade des Anglais and extends to the tree-lined Boulevard Victor Hugo.

Look for street names like Paradis, Alfonse Karr or Longchamp in order to identify this chic quarter of Nice. The 'Golden Square' is the Mayfair or Park Avenue of Nice, on the gorgeous French Riveria Coast.

This market and wine cellar tour, along with nicoise cooking is fantastic and we can arrange this for you. We had a great time, especially sampling our efforts afterwards with several glasses or two, of Rose Bandol and Provencal Wines.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

Cote d'Azure, the French Riviera is one of the most popular holiday destinations in France, with its perfect beaches, high style of life and a lot of interesting places to visit, this is an ideal holiday region.

This was one of the first resort areas in the world and for a good reason, the Mediterranean coast stretches for miles and is covered with golden-sand and pebbled beaches. Being a health resort area in the 19th century, it was famous with the aristocrats like Queen Victoria, King Edward VII and in the 20th century with artists Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse or Edith Wharton.

The region has a typical Mediterranean climate with hot, sunny summers and dry mild winters perfect for all year round holiday.

Places worth of visiting are: Nice, Hyres, famous Saint-Tropez, Saint-Maxine, Cannes and its film festival, Antibes, Monaco, Monte-Carlo and many others. Saint-Tropez best being accessed by boat from Nice Port to avoid the traffic if considering driving, a train can be taken, but can take many hours.

Nice is easily accessible by an international airport only 20 minutes from central Nice.

If you are not a fan of flying Eurostar offer a good comfortable train service from London Waterloo, changing in Paris then through to Nice for around £100 standard fare return per person and taking around 10 hours for the whole journey. So why don't you sit back and relax and enjoy the French countryside and maybe have a stop over in Paris!

From airport via Taxi:

The apartment is a 20 minute taxi journey from terminal 1 at Nice Airport and should cost around 25 Euros.

From airport via Bus:

The apartment is also only a 20 minute journey via an affordable regular bus service from terminal 1 along the Promenade Des Anglais with buses leaving every 10 minutes. The buses themselves are modern and comfortable with plenty of luggage space. To ride the bus you buy a daily ticket for 4 Euros per person which has the benefit of giving you a full days unlimited travel around the Nice area.

From the Station:

The apartment is 20 Mins walking distance from the Gare De Nice, or alternatively a taxi costs around 25 Euros.

“A fantastic apartment in a beautiful city” A beautiful, light and spacious apartment in the heart of Nice; just a stones throw from the beach, the old town and the famous Cours Saleya Fruit and Flower market. The aparmtent is perfectly located in the very heart of this fabulous city. You could spend weeks here and never become bored. Its pedestrianised narrow lanes are teemed with restaurants, bars and pavement cafes, alongside quaint boutique. The apartment is in a architecturally stunning building. The main rooms are bright and airy, with large windows that allow light to flood in. The apartement comes well resources with cooking equipment, additional bedding and has the added bonus of a dvd player and wifi - which made keeping in touch with family very easy whilst away. This was the perfect apartment for our week away - highly reccomended. “Location, Location!” We found Appartement Bord de la Mer to be completely suitable for our needs. Having never been to Nice or the south of France, we wanted to be close to everything. This apartment is in a great location for convenience and access to the promenade d'anglais, pedestraian streets, shops, cafes etc. Response: Nice has it all! “Lovely pied a terre in Nice - fantastic location!” We spent a great 3 nights in this lovely apartment which is situated in a smart (and safe) district of Nice - 5 mins walk from the Zone Pietonne and the Promenade des Anglais. We were travelling with our 3 year old son and the apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen and shower room are modern and well equipped and the beds v comfortable. It was a much better option for us than staying in a hotel and was excellent value for money compared to the 2 star hotel we could have stayed in for the same price. The apartment is situated on a street with everything close at hand - boulangerie, supermarket etc and so it was easy to stock up the fridge with picnic supplies for the beach. Although we were only there for a short break, I could see this working well for a longer stay for a couple and thanks to the AC/heating provided, is suitable for both summer and off season rentals. The information provided by the owner was thorough and detailed and all communication was efficient and professional - highly recommended!! Response: Nice has it all! “Exceptional” My husband and I just returned from 2 1/2 weeks in the apartment Bord de la Mer, in Nice, and enjoyed every minute. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary there. The apartment was cozy, clean, and in an ideal location, one block from the beach and Promenade, and several bus lines. We were 6-8 blocks from the train, tram, and Old Town, with the famous Flower and Antique Market. Public transportation in NIce is excellent, and we were able to go to perched villages, beautiful towns along the Mediterranean, over into Italy to several markets. Margareta, the lady who met us was friendly, helpful, and explained to us how everything worked. Richard, the owner sent great information via email. Many restaurants are in the neighborhood ranging from Pizza, takeouts, to fine dining. Be sure to have grilled sea bass at La Trattatoria, across the street. We would love to go back. The restaurant downstairs had wifi. Response: Nice has it all! “Wonderful Retreat.......” We couldn't have hoped for a better base for our stay in Nice. The most ideal location with super easy access to everything and everywhere. Apartment was clean, tidy, well appointed and, above all, comfortable and secure. I could go on but I'd just be repeating the previous excellent, well deserved reviews. “Great location,cosy and clean” Suitable for 2 adults,great location to promenade and other sights .Grocery stores, coffee shop,bakery and general shopping all within walking distance as well as restaurants.Use the hop on hop off bus upon arrival to get your bearings.Do not miss the flower market or the town of Eze about 30 minutes from Nice.Margareta the agent for Richard the owner was waiting for us when we arrived and was extremely helpful.Margareta drove to the airport upon departure as we had a very early flight. “Bright, Sunny & Perfect Location!” What a fab wee apartment! It was welcoming, bright & sunny, & had a warm & homely feel! Well appointed & equipped with very comfy beds!! The location was perfect - one block back from the Promenade ( a few mins walk) and only a 5 min walk to the bustle of the old town! A little noise from the local mexican bar/restaurant on the weekend nights - but only a little! Lots of good places to eat out very close by, but my mum & I also ate in a couple nights (kitchen well equipped), before heading out for a late night stroll along the prom (perfect!). We recieved a first rate service from Richard(landlord) -nothing was too much trouble & was always with a smile! I will certainly be returning to Nice in the near future & I will definitely stay in 'Appartment Bord de la Mer' Response: Nice has it all! We have many guests return year after year. “A Splendid Time Was Had By All” Location, location, location" the adage goes, and Appartement Bord De La Mer" has all three. It was the perfect location for us, 300 meters from la mer, in a neighborhood we knew well. The apartment itself is really quite nice, with a comfortable bed, a great bathroom [with a heated towel rack that was worth its weight it gold]. The kitchen is small, as was expected, and we had great fun, coordinating our moves when preparing dinner and doing the dishes. At home, we usually are very territorial over the kitchen--once one of us claims it, the other enters at his or her own risk. Here, mutual cooperation was the only alternative. Who knows, may have extended our marriage by another 20-30 years? Anyway, sunlight finds its way into the apartment in the afternoon, which was certainly welcome as we were there during the coldest winter in the last 30 years. And... the 4 goose down comforters? Worth more than their weight in gold. Our stay would have been perfect, if the temperatures had been anywhere near normal. As it was, we took advantage of the apartment's DVD library at night. And you know what? Only the lucky ones get to complain about the weather. Response: Thank you so much hope to see you in 2013 or 2014! loads going on in Nice!

“Super Location in heart of Nice” We had a great stay in this apartment during our visit to France. The number one benefit is by far the location. You are a short walk to everything - the pedestrian area with shops & restaurants is only a few meters away, the beach/promenade also within 100 meters or so. You can walk to the train station in about 10 minutes to get to Cannes, Monte Carlo and even Italy. The big farmers market and central park are 5-10 minute walks as well. The apartment is well appointed with a kitchen area and the washing machine is a great bonus. Perfect for 2 people, we had 4 (2 kids ages 8 & 10) so we were a little cramped because we had to use the pullout bed but we had no issues. Mainly we would eat breakfast at the apartment and sometimes dinner and would come to get cleaned up after the beach or before going out at night etc... One of the best experiences was going to a nearby bakery and getting a baguette each morning. The apartment was spotless when we got there, clean fridge and bathroom and we were shown around and questions answered by the agent who met us on site on our arrival. The vendors were easy to contact when necessary and we had no problems. Overall it is a nice apartment, the washing machine is great the longer you stay and the location cannot be beat. An additional charge of £16 Sterling per person is charged for linen, sheets and towel hire if required. Please see booking form on owners website on request (This is charged separate to keep your accommodation cost as low as possible and is not a hidden charge like some other renters, who claim that it is included for free - we aim to be as transparent as possible).

This charge is set by our friendly Swedish cleaning agent who is always on call for your assistance.

A non-refundable 35% deposit is required on reservation and full payment is required 12 weeks before your stay. Special rates are available for longer stays.

We are pleased to announce that we now accept payments via Pay Pal in all currencies listed by Pay Pal. A refundable Key/Security deposit of £80 GBP is required. Also we have to pay your tourist tax at £0.80 per person per night (under 18's free as defined by the Nice Maire). We dont believe in overcharging our guests for a security bond and trust our guests to be honest and let us know about any damages. Any damages will be invoiced and chased separately. A lot of guests become our long term friends.

Please note that their is a lift to all floors, some buildings in Nice, do-not have this advantage. However the apartment is situated on a short flight of stairs on the second floor only.
