The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region
Geographically Nice is situated between Cannes and Monte Carlo and has excellent bus and train connections to both and further afield. It is also one of the few European cities to have such a well connected airport within 10 minutes of the city centre.
One of the best ways to visit the surrounding areas of Nice is by bus (€1 to travel to Monaco, via Villefranche, Eze, Menton!) Italy is only a 30 minute train journey away. The station is a 10 minute walk and from here you can also travel to any of these towns (eg. it costs €7 for a return ticket to Beaulieur-sur-Mer, a beautiful day out and only 15 minutes ride away.)
Going West takes you to St Paul de Vence, Biot, Antibes and Cannes and Grasse.
Boats from the port of Nice travel to Corsica and St. Tropez amongst other destinations.
Alternatively venture inland to the beautiful villages in the mountains. You can even ski in Spring due to the high altitude at the ski resort of ‘Isola 2000’! (The daily bus transfers cost €2 and the journey is only 80 kilometres away!) So you can be back in the evening to continue your apres-ski and enjoy some of the nightlife which Nice has to offer.
You are also ideally placed to enjoy Monaco’s Grand Prix and Cannes Film festival.
Nice has a Mediterranean climate making it generally mild in the Winter (it can reach up to 20 degrees in November and March.) and up to 30+ degrees in July and August.
So if it is a mid-season, summer break or Winter sun you are after - Nice has it all!
The Musicians Quarter is in the centre of Nice and is one of the most elegant areas. Restaurants and shops are just minutes away from the apartment. There is also a local boulangerie round the corner for those early morning croissants!
Rue de France has something for everyone and offers a great choice of restaurants, bars and shops. Avenue Jean Medecin is the main shopping street and 15 minutes walk away. There is a choice of high street fashion to designer boutiques and in the old town you will find a large selection of hand crafted jewellery, clothes, gifts and local art.
Close to the Promenade des Anglais (which is a beautiful walk day and night) head towards the Chateau and the port: stop off in the Old Town to visit the famous ‘Cours Saleya’ market where you will also find more restaurants. Try some local cuisine, ‘Socca’, petits farcis nicois ...
The opera, casinos, museums, night club, pubs and restaurants on offer can certainly keep you busy!

"Nice is so, so NICE!!"
Villa Harmonie is even better!! There is everything you need in an apartment and everything is very clean and modern - which you don't always find in France! Good location, especially if this is your first visit.

"Our second stay in Villa Harmonie and found it as immaculate as last year"
We returned to Villa Harmonie for the second year running and had another enjoyable stay in this first class apartment and the consistently positive guest book reflects our opinion.
The location is perfect - easy to stroll to the beach as is the train station. (We managed to fit in a couple of day trips to Monaco and Antibes - well recommended!) The representatives who met us upon arrival to show us round were as attentive as ever and helped make our stay perfect.
Thank you - we will be returning again next year!

"A perfect honeymoon in Villa Harmonie"
We were really impressed with Villa Harmonie from the start. Nice can be expensive accommodation wise, and the Villa proved excellent value for money in comparison with the dozens of other apartments we looked at.
The kitchen facilities were excellent; the bed was very clean and comfortable. The villa was spotlessly clean and fully equipped with everything we needed. The agent Christophe, who looked after us while we were staying there, was very attentive and prompt to respond to any queries we had.
This was our honeymoon, so we were intent on relaxing, enjoying the beach and walking (drinking, and eating our way) round Old Nice. The furthest we ventured was Mont Boron, as there was so much to do in the area around the apartment. It is perfectly located to access all of Central Nice and five minutes walk from the beach; the area was very safe and residential, and conveniently near the train station, which is very handy if you want to visit Monaco or you are travelling by Eurostar like we did.
Reading the guestbook when we arrived showed that we are not the only ones in love with this place - and the bottle of champagne to celebrate our new married life on arrival was a lovely surprise!

"Few little things could make a huge difference"
1. secure entrance to the building
2. enough space for two people for a week
3. electric blinds
4. air conditioning
6. third floor
8. good access to train station
1. bed sheets have not been changed from the previous customers and therefore were filthy, i.e. smelly and full of hair
2. dirty towels - full of hair (good job we brought our own with us)
3. nobody contacted us as agreed two days before our arrival. We had to get in touch and did not get a response for good few hours
4. Claire's emails to us and when we were greeted - not bothered attitude, not professional at all
5. No toilet paper
6. No HiFi or similar and no DVD player. No WiFi.
7. Long distance away from the centre and the beach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the area does not feel safe
8. Bathroom very basic, no homely feel to it. No windows or extractor fan.
9. Very old spring mattress (not comfy to sleep on).
Thank you for your comments. We tried to contact you following your review to offer our apologies directly but we never received any response. Nor did our representative in Nice hear from you during your stay to help resolve any potential problems or questions you may have had. My only thought is that you arrived early ahead of your check-in time to deposit your luggage and returned later after the apartment was cleaned. (We try and be flexible and offer an early check-in where possible to guests.) Nevertheless in response to some of your points mentioned:
no.7 (positive list): we do not have a cafeteria in the building...
Regarding some of the other points mentioned: we have only ever received excellent reviews about our representatives who manage the apartment for us and greet guests (some tell us how charming they are!), so myself and they were surprised and disappointed to read your comments; our adverts clearly stipulate that the apartment does not have a DVD, stereo or WIFI yet; the Musiciens' Quarter is reknowned as being one of the most elegant, affluent and safest areas in NIce so I was a little surprised to hear your thoughts on the area but of course I respect your opinion and apologise if you experienced it in a different way; the beach (as shown on the advert map) is approx. +/- 10 mins walk from the apartment; all our furnishings are brand new including the Italian designer bed. We paid over 1200 Euros for the bed a couple of years ago and its high quality mattress. We know how important it is for guests to have a good nights sleep whilst on holiday!
We take great pride in guests enjoying their stay at Villa Harmonie. The visitors book also shows that many have fallen in love with it - and have returned, as have some of their families and friends.
Once again I apologise for your experience. We were very disappointed to read your comments as we always strive to offer our guests the best possible service upon their arrival and throughout their stay.
