About the home

This is a really lovely, sunny and spacious 1 bedroom apartment in the heart of old "vieux" Nice. Located on the 1st floor (with a clean and modern entrance area) there is a double door entry (good security) The apartment has been completely renovated with new and fresh furniture. On entry you have a large livingroom with american kitchen. There is a double sofa bed, dining area with 4 chairs, large flat screen TV with Satelite channels inc BBC world, sky news - there is also free of charge internet access. The apartment has 2 large (double glazed) windows which open to give plenty of air and light into apartment and allows you to experience the ambiance of the old town and allows the afternoon sun to come into the apartment. The american kitchen has washing machine, cooking hob and microwave and full utensils. The bedroom has a kingsize bed, storage cupboards and bedside tables. There is new shower-room with good quality shower. There is a full airconditioning unit in the living-room which benefits the bedroom also at night. This is a really nice and fresh apartment - located in great position 20 meters from the famous Cours Selaya flower market and 50 meters from Promenade and beach - this is an ideal base for couple, family or small group to experience the joys and ambiance of old Nice.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

Unlike its nearby (glitzy) neighbours of Cannes and Monaco, Nice feels like a ‘real town’. It is the 5th largest city in France and this is evident to anyone who spends any time there. Certainly there is a lot more than just the (rather wonderful) Promenade des Anglais to investigate.

Built on a series of hills and valleys overlooking the stunning Baie des Anges the city comprises of many interesting "quartiers" the most fascinating being the Old Town (Vieux Nice), Cimiez and the vicinity directly behind the famous Negresco Hotel.

The Nice area

Apart from the obvious attractions of the sunshine, the beaches and more restaurants than you can shake a french stick at, Nice has many interesting places to visit. The many museums, art galleries and cathedrals are great places to see. Also Le Chateau Park, Mt Boron (overlooking the Old Port) and the fabulous Promenade des Anglais (on the bay), all offer a choice of breathtaking views and great places to stroll. Vieux Nice (Old Nice) should not be missed, a walk around the old cobbled (and very narrow) streets is a must!

We’ve been in this flat during 10 days. We liked it very much because it’sreally comfortable placed in the heart of Nice. There are a lot of shops and nice squares in daytime and many good restaurants and cafes at night time.The sea is in 5 minutes from the flat and also Promenade des’anglais. It’s so beautiful.
In the flat we were glad to find out all necessary we needed. We felt ourselves like we were at home.

We have just stayed at this lovely apartment for a week. It’s position, as previously mentioned, is perfectly positioned for the old town,restuarants, beach and the local transport. The apartment itself is very well equipped and furnished to a very good standard.
I had probably better stop now or it will not be available when we want to go back!!

We stayed at Rue Gaetan during high season in July with 2 older children 10 & 15 . we all loved the location as it is very near the beach and in the centre of Old town. There were different markets every day in the square just a block away .The accommodations were very nice with excellent english typewritten explanations on how to do just about anything in the apartment ( work the washing machine etc…)and where to go outside of it . The laundromat is a few blocks away as well. We washed clothes in the apartment and then items we needed to dry quickly, we just took to the laundromat and they had large dryers available .The shower is excellent !!!!
I would highly recommend using this flat.

Absolutely fantastic stay in Nice and this apartment is amazing. Exceeded my expectations. Key collection was very easily explained and had no problems. Directions given to apt were perfect. Such an amazing location - the welcome hamper was such a lovely treat. No problems whatsoever and had a relaxed stay in Nice. Recommended this apt to all - the pictures dont do it justice. Airconditioning is a blessing and with the double glazing I slept like a baby. Perfect for beach, daytrips or shopping. Everything you need.
