The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
Nice is fantastic for a holiday at any time of year. From the Carnival in February, through summer on the beach, to a mild Xmas.Nice is the largest City on the Cote d'Azur and one that remains busy and vibrant throughout the year. Nice has 300 days of sunshine a year. Within Nice itself there are art museums, medieval roads, chateau ruins, suberb views, many restaurants and bars, extensive shopping, an opera house, 2 English language cinemas, good transport connections, lovely walks, fantastic markets.
Nice area
Beaches; food and flower markets; walks along the coastline or in the hills or in the villages around; Monaco for the Casino, the Grand Prix; Cannes for the Film Festival, the Croisette, people watching; Antibes for the largest super yachts in the World, the Friday market in Ventimiglia for shoes , clothes, and handbags and household items;Picasso, Matisse, Chagall and many other museums; fantastic food and wines; the art galleries in St Paul de Vence; the perfume makers in Grasse; the glass blowing in Biot; skiing in the Southern Alps (1 and a half hours from Nice); cycling and mountain biking; golf courses (18 within an hour from Nice); rollerblading along the Promenade.
For children there is Marineland at Antibes (whales, dolphins and seal shows), Aqualand at Antibes (outdoor splash centre open from June), Parc Phoenix in Nice (reptiles, fish, insects, flowers, and large park and children's playground), the little train around the sites of Nice and up to the Chateau ruins, beaches, the Aquarium in Monaco, swimming, bowling and cinema in English. There are three children's playgrounds a short walk from the house. There is also an open air swimming pool 2 minutes from the house which is open from June til September.
I can arrange local (English speaking or probably most other languages) baby sitters and nannies who are plentiful and charge from 8 to 10 Euros a day.

Further details outdoors: I have a small garage opposite the house which will take a normal 4 door car, but not an estate car or a 4 x 4 or anything bigger if you wish to close the door. Parking can also be provided in the garage at the bottom of the garden or you can park on the street near the house (30metres). Please book garages in advance. There is a very large flat roof with lovely views available for sunbathing and entertaining outside. There is a large gas barbecue on the roof. In the lower garden there is a petanque court. If only the upper part of the house is rented, access to the lower garden is via external steps.

Guestbook for Villa Les Lucioles
Just to say thank you for letting us use your beautiful home, we had a great time. (Anne and Richard from Brittany)
We loved the house in Nice. We all really enjoyed our week. The house had so much more character than a boring American style hotel where we could have stayed. (Brian, Dublin)
We all enjoyed our time in your lovely villa and hope to do it again sometime. Thanks. (Anne, UK)
