Wonderful light and airy 2 bedroom apartment in the Old Town (Vieux Nice).
Our apartment is on the 2nd floor of a typical Nicois building in Rue Francois Zanin, a quiet but wide pedestrian street just round the corner (literally!) from the Old Town's fabulous markets, shops, bars and restaurants and less than 10 minutes walk from both the beach and the port. It is also only a couple of minutes walk from bus and tram stops on Nice's excellent public transport system which provides excellent services to the airport (20 minutes) and the many attractions in Nice and the wider area.
The apartment comprises a large (5m x 4m) double-window sitting room with dining area, a modern American-style kitchen, 2 bedrooms (one with a double bed and a walk-in wardrobe, the other with two single beds) and a modern WC/shower room.

"Location: Flat perfectly situated for strolling in the old city and exploring the new."
The flat is well equipped and comfortable The location is perfect for strolling the old city, and within a block of the excellent transport system which provides easy access to the city and beyond. There are lots of inviting restaurants, starting right outside the door and a Monoprix market just across the road in the new city. A respite from the bustle of the city is found at "le chateau" at the top of "La coline", the innumerable steps to which start just left of the front door.
Tips: Pack lightly as transport stops at least a block away, and there is a significant flight of stairs to climb to the flat. A car is not recommended or necessary for Nice A personal cell phone would be advantageous.

"Ideal location in Old Nice plus the comforts of home."
Iain was very responsive to our questions/requests, and caretaker Sam was charming and gave us a good tour of the property when we arrived. The apartment is well appointed with good quality equipment… More
Thanks so much for your review and I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. As you say, the apartment is on the second floor (or 3rd if you use the US system of counting!) and there is no lift (as is the case with most Old Town buildings), but the stairs are reasonably easy. Incidentally, I gather that the new Promenade Du Paillon has just opened after 3 years of building. This 12 hectare urban park allows a wonderful pedestrian walk from about 200m from our apartment down to the sea with lots of fun things to do along the way (water jets, swings, games etc) - if you ever want a change from ambling to the front through the wonderful pedestrianised streets of the Old Town!

"This superbly equipped apartment is within 'Old Nice' and is ideally located for all amenities."
There were three of us in the party all in our seventies. The apartment was ideal for our needs: virtually in the heart of the old city and yet modern Nice was only steps away. We could wander around the old streets, flower market, along the seafront etc and yet were only meters away from Place Garibaldi where we could get transport to most parts of the Riviera, including the airport. There were numerous good restaurants very close by. At the same time if we wanted to stop in for an evening the accommodation was comfortably furnished, offered satellite TV, DVD and WiFi and the kitchen had everything anyone could ask for in terms of equipment for self-catering. Furthermore the owners responded without delay to any queries we had while there. I would certainly give the apartment my full and unreserved recommendation.

I feel that I should just clarify that whilst we have the Bouygues TV package (which includes things like SKY News)we don't have full English subscription satellite TV.
