Home description
Situated on the fourth floor of this authentic and fascinating Nicois building (no lift, of course), the apartment, in Rue du Collet, is light, bright and, above all, peaceful and serene. With windows everywhere, a cooling breeze can be summoned up in an instant.
The apartment has been completely renovated and decorated and all fitments and appliances are new. At the same time care has been taken to maintain original features such as tiled flooring and shutters. The independent kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, hot plates, fridge and all cooking utensils.
In Rue du Collet below you will find the bustling life of shops, boutiques and restaurants. Here you can buy all manner of local food to eat in or take away, every item of clothing imaginable and a bizarre array of produce from the numerous special interest shops that pepper the street. The famous Rue Droite, opposite, consists almost exclusively of art galleries, from one end to the other.
A few minutes away there is the open air market of the Cours Saleya. Here, every day, you will find a wonderful assortment of vegetables, fruits, home made jams, cheeses, olives, breads and pastries. In the evening the Cours Saleya is magically transformed into a glittering array of al fresco restaurants offering every kind of cuisine until the early hours of the morning. When you have finished your meal why not stroll along the Promenade des Anglais and watch the sun set over the beautiful Baie des Anges?

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
In Nice you are at the heart of the Cote d'Azur. From there you can take a short bus ride (the bus terminal is 4 minutes from the apartment) to the cliff hanging village of St Paul de Vence or to picturesque Villefranche with its sandy beach, idyllic harbour, boats and yachts. Why not take a ferry for a day trip to Corsica? Take the train along the coast past Menton and Monaco to Italy, following the coast with its blue skies and azure sparkling seas. There are mountains and beautiful villages for walking, skiing, wining and dining. Whether you want to stay put or explore, Nice is the perfect base.
Nice / Vieux Nice area
Whatever you require from a holiday, Nice provides it in abundance. You can sunbathe on the beach ( five minutes walk away), walk, cycle or rollerblade along the famous Promenade des Anglais (all 5 km of it!). For museums you are spoilt for choice - Musee Dufy, Musee Matisse, Musee Marc-Chagall etc. Something always seems to be happening in Nice. On an international scale there is the jazz festival in July and the famous Nice Carnival in February.
Walk through the Old Town (Vieux Nice) with its maze of winding streets, little restaurants and cafes, tiny shops, art galleries and little squares for al fresco dining. From the apartment you can stroll the narrow cobbled streets of this mediaeval town and visit the many specialist shops selling everything from a bewildering array of cheeses to locally made sweets and perfumes. In Place Rossetti treat yourself to an ice cream from the finest ice cream specialist in the whole of France and sit and watch the world go by.
How to get there
Low budget airlines to Nice Cote d'Azur airport. Take the coach to Nice centre (costs 4 euros) and in 15 minutes you have arrived. The apartment is 4 minutes from the bus terminus.
