The French Riviera - Cote d'Azur region

Nice is directly situated on the Mediterranean sea, therefore enjoys a rather hot summers and mild winters with sunshine all year round. Nice is the spring board to all locations, attractions and activities along the French Riviera and places of interests such as Monaco, Cannes and St Tropez are within easy reach.

For a holiday in Nice a car is not required as you can easily reach many attractions in Nice by foot or by the local bus. Exploring the area and villages around and outside Nice can be done also by bus or by train.

If you come by car, there are plenty of car parks (Parking) around the Old Town and the bus station to park it.

Nice is a great holiday destination all your round wether you are a beach bum or a ski bunny. Ski stations, such as Isola 2000 or Auron are just 1 hour drive away and therefore you could have ski and beach holiday in one. The city of Nice is pretty proud of those ski areas as they are applying to host the Winter Olympics there in 2018.

NIce with all its wonderful restaurants, shops and cultural activities is a very charming and lively city yet at the same time also very relaxed and very mediterranean. It boasts with 8 km of beach and has something to offer for everyone from city slicker, sport man or sun worshipper.

The famous Promenade des Anglais is only about 4 mins walk (300meters) away from the flat, which makes it an ideal pied a terre for a beach holiday.

The old town area is strictly pedestrianised, so you won't need a car to do your daily trips to the local boulangeries or the shops.

Gourmets and food lovers will enjoy buying their fruit and veg at the local market on Cours Saleya, about 200 meters away from the flat. Even closer, a local wine shop where you can buy great wine by the litre straight from the barrel for a few Euros. You can also buy your olive oil, freshly made pasta and other local delicatessen from authentic artisan shops right at your door step.

Surrounded by so much local delicious produce you might even want to cook your own lunch and enjoy it with a glass of chilled rose. We've recently discovered a wonderful Italian delicatessen around the corner from the flat, and their buffalo morzarella is the best in the world. We also stocked up on Italian cold cuts such as parma ham and mortadella. You cannot miss that shop, the smell of ham and fresh crusty bread will draw you inside in no time.

About 5 minutes walk away, on Place Garibaldi, the famous seafood restaurant "Cafe de Turin" is pulling in seafood lovers of all ages and nationalities. "Cafe de Turin" is a very down to earth restaurant, but their great varity of daily fresh seafood at honest prices draws in the punters at lunch time and dinner. Lots of customers even come especially from Italy. Whether you love oysters, langustines or sea urchins this great little place won't dissapoint.

But don't stop there, there is ice cream for dessert. Place Rossetti is famous for two local ice cream shops, which have been established as Nicois artisans for decades. Fenoccio and Pincoccio boast with over 100 ice cream flavours - our tip: have a scoop every day and work your way through the menu.

"Charming duplex flat in the heart of Old Nice."

This flat is a perfect romantic get away but also suitable for a family of 4 since it has two large king sized beds. Fully equipped kitchen with a dish-washer as well as a washing machine. And they work!

We loved the location since everything is within walking distance. The beach, the flower market, the old docks and lots of great restaurants and bars. The flat is on the top floor and has a great view over the castle and Place Rossetti.

The beach is close enough so one can run home and take a shower and change.

Our favorit wine and cheese bar Le Fromageri was just around the corner as well as our favorit bar Les Distilleries Idéales. If one walks a bit further in to town we highly recommend Le Canon but be sure to book ahead. At the flower market the best bet is Le Safari. The flat was also close to Rue Bonaparte where there are a string of funky and cool cafes where there are more locals than turists.

Just a few minuts walk one can take the 100 bus that will take you along the shore to Monaco. Be sure not to miss the smal quaint villages such as Ezé and/or Villefranche-sur-Mer.

This flat we've stayed in before and long to return to.

"superb city break!!"

This apartment is in a fantastic location everything in the old town is right on your doorstep. its right in the heart of the old town 2 minute walk and your at the course selaya.
The apartment was right at the top of a very clean building it has great views and is quiet at night. Spotlessly clean. Very open plan sleeping area with shower and loo very close. perfect for 2 adults who are not shy.

"3 1/2 - Would have been 4 if not for the low ceilings!"

Well situated in a lovely vibrant area, close to amenities and public transport links. The apartment itself is very well equipped and decorated, with nice views from front and back. Nice and comfortable, the only drawbacks are the low heights in the bedroom/shower area, a few bumped heads. All in all very satisfactory.

"Perfect place for Singles or Couples right in the centre of old Nice"

It is very easy to find the house & the apartment. It is right in the centre of old Nice at a Square. The location is surrounded by restaurants and little shops. The famous "flower market" is just a few minutes walk and directly on the way to the beach (5 minutes walk). The city center is also very close. The apartment is full furnished with a very comfortable bed & couch. It is perfect for singles or couples. It might be too small for families with more than 1 kid. I would not recommend this apartment for people with disabilities since it is on the 4th floor (no elevator) and there is another little stairway between living room and bed room/bath. The apartment is clean and has Internet and TV.

"Cosy apartment for a great vacation"

We stayed in this cosy apartment for 10 days. It is well equipped with all the necessary amenities tenants may need including a washing machine. From a window one can enjoy a great view of Place Rossetti. The beach is 5 to 10 minutes away, and all the good restaurants are on the way too. I would strongly suggest to eat at La Storia located in the Cours Saleya also called "Flower Market" in the Old Town, which is 5mins around the corner from the apartment.

Wir waren für ein langes Wochenende in Nizza. Das Apartment war perfekt, sehr charmant, und tip-top ausgestattet*. Wir mochten vor allem die Sicht auf den Rosetti Platz, den Kirchturm nebenan, und di… More
