The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
Nice is directly situated on the Mediterranean sea, therefore enjoys a rather hot summers and mild winters with sunshine all year round. Nice is the spring board to all locations, attractions and activities along the French Riviera and places of interests such as Monaco, Cannes and St Tropez are within easy reach.
For a holiday in Nice a car is not required as you can easily reach many attractions in Nice by foot or by the local bus. Exploring the area and villages around and outside Nice can be done also by bus or by train. If you come by car, there are plenty of car parks (Parking) around the Old Town and the bus station to park it.
Nice is a great holiday destination all your round wether you are a beach bum or a ski bunny. Ski stations, such as Isola 2000 or Auron are just 1 hour drive away and therefore you could have ski and beach holiday in one. The city of Nice is pretty proud of those ski areas as they are applying to host the Winter Olympics there in 2018.
Nice / Vieux Nice area
NIce with all its wonderful restaurants, shops and cultural activities is a very charming and lively city yet at the same time also very relaxed and very mediterranean. It boasts with 8 km of beach and has something to offer for everyone from city slicker, sport man or sun worshipper.
The famous Promenade des Anglais is only about 4 mins walk (300meters) away from the flat, which makes it an ideal 'pied a terre' for a beach holiday.
The old town area is strictly pedestrianised, so you won't need a car to do your daily trips to the local boulangeries or the shops. Gourmets and food lovers will enjoy buying their fruit and veg at the local market on Cours Saleya, about 200 meters away from the flat. Even closer, a local wine shop where you can buy great wine by the litre straight from the barrel for a few Euros. You can also buy your olive oil, freshly made pasta and other local delicatessen from authentic artisan shops right at your door step. Surrounded by so much local delicious produce you might even want to cook your own lunch and enjoy on the balcony with a glass of chilled rose. We've recently discovered a wonderful Italian delicatessen around the corner from the flat, and their buffalo morzarella is the best in the world. We also stocked up on Italian cold cuts such as parma ham and mortadella. You cannot miss that shop, the smell of ham and fresh crusty bread will draw you inside in no time.
About 5 minutes walk away, on Place Garibaldi, the famous seafood restaurant "Cafe de Turin" is pulling in seafood lovers of all ages and nationalities. "Cafe de Turin" is a very down to earth restaurant, but their great varity of daily fresh seafood at honest prices draws in the punters at lunch time and dinner. Lots of customers even come especially from Italy. Whether you love oysters, langustines or sea urchins this great little place won't dissapoint.
But don't stop there, there is ice cream for dessert. Place Rossetti is famous for two local ice cream shops, which have been established as Nicois artisans for decades. Fenoccio and Pincoccio boast with over 100 ice cream flavours - our tip: have a scoop every day and work your way through the menu.

Guestbook for Balcon Rossetti
Simon and Katja's apartment Balcon is fabulous - wonderful location right overlooking the square, They have really done it well - very comfortable, open and has everything you need for a relaxing time. I would highly recommend the apartment to anyone - you will love it!" Joanna Dunstan, UK
What a lovely time we had in Nice this year. The apartment was in a great location and we had everything we needed there, it was lovely to have Sarah Jane a phone call or text away for any queries, she was superb.Thank you very much for making it such a great experience, we will be looking shortly into booking for next year so I'll be in touch. Aneira Jones, UK
Mate, flat is awesome, perfect location! James Elliott, London
The apartment was lovely, with an excellent location giving both the atmosphere of the Vielle Ville and the great convenience of being close to the bus station for transport to the airport. It has been thoughtfully renovated, in particular the kitchen and cooking equipment were terrific, as was the presence of a washer-drier. The living and dining area is particularly spacious, and the bathroom clean, modern and with a fabulous shower. The presence of both heating and air-conditioning ticks all the "comfort" boxes. The balcony overlooking Place Rosetti is a wonderful place to sip a chilled Provencal rose in the afternoon! Meroula Richardson, Australia
