Home description
This bright and sunny apartment is on the fourth floor of a 16th century renovated Nicois building, right by the famous Cours Saleya and just a few minutes from the sea. It consists of hallway, kitchen, lounge, bedroom and shower room. It has been completely refurbished to a high standard. The newly fitted kitchen is independent and has a fridge/freezer, microwave, electric hob and washing machine. The bedroom has a double bed while the lounge has a double and a single sofa which convert to beds. The apartment retains the original exposed wooden beams and is in excellent decorative order.
In the open air market of the Cours Saleya, by the apartment building, you can buy fresh local food every day: a wonderful assortment of vegetables, fruits, home made jams, cheeses, olives, breads and pastries. For dining out the Cours Saleya becomes host in the evening to an array of al fresco restaurants offering every kind of cuisine to the early hours of the morning. When you have finished your meal why not stroll along the promenade and watch the sun set over the beautiful Baie des Anges?

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
In Nice you are at the heart of the Cote d'Azur. From there you can take a short bus ride to the cliff-hanging village of St Paul de Vence to visit galleries or to picturesque Villefranche with its sandy beach, idyllic harbour, boats and yachts. Why not take the ferry for a day trip to Corsica? Take the train along the coast past Menton and Monaco to Italy following the coast with its blue and azur sparkling seas. Mountains and beautiful villages are there for walking, skiing, wining and dining. Whether you want to stay put or explore, Nice is the perfect base.
Nice / Vieux Nice area
Whatever you require from a holiday Nice provides it in abundance. You can sunbathe on the beach (a few minutes away), walk, cycle or rollerblade along the famous promenade des Anglais (all 5km of it!). For museums you are spoiled for choice - Musee Dufy, Musee Matisse, Musee Marc-Chagall etc. Something always seems to be happening in Nice. On an international scale there is the jazz festival in July and the famous Nice Carnival in February.
Walk through the old Town with its maze of winding streets, little restaurants and cafes, tiny shops, galleries and little squares for al fresco eating. From the apartment you can stroll through the narrow cobbled streets of this mediaeval town and visit the many specialist shops selling everything from cheeses to locally made sweets and perfumes (the renowned 'maison de la Lavande' is next door to the apartment building). In Place Rossetti treat yourself to an ice cream from the finest ice cream specialist in the whole of France and sit and watch the world go by. There are year round exhibitions, festivals and concerts.
How to get there
Low budget airlines to Nice Cote d'Azur airport. Take the coach to Nice centre (costs 4 euros) and in 15 minutes you have arrived. The apartment is 5 minutes from the bus stop.
