Less than 10 minutes walk to the train station.and 10 minutes walk to the old town. A perfect luxurious base to explore all that this amazing city has to offer.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
The Cote d'Azur is the perfect holiday destination all year round. Winter is comparatively warm (average 53f December - March and rarely below 41f) and summer an average of 75F but can hit Mid 80f in July and August. Nice offers the rare possibility of going skiing in the Alps in the morning and spending the afternoon on the beach!
Nice public transport system is very impressive with the brand new tram (opened dec 2007) taking you from one end of Nice to another to the efficent bus and train network taking you to Monaco/St Tropez/Antibes/Cannes. The port is nearby where there are regular ferries to Corsica and great options for short cruises up the coast eg to Monaco.
Nice / Carre d'Or area
Location is hard to beat,in the heart of the prestigious Carre d'Or residential area but close to the beach(back from the Palais De La Mediterannee).
Boulangerie on the corner,shops and restaurants all around and Rue Massena pedestrianised zone nearby. 10 minute walk to Place Massena and the Old Town.
Rue Dalpozzo is very quiet given its location-a one way street with no direct car route to the Promenade. Cours saleya is close by where there are daily fish/grocery/flower markets and a must see Antique market every Monday.
Promenade des Anglais is approx 4 minutes walk away where you can participate in roller blading/jogging or alternatively take a seat and watch the world go by. Wonderful atmosphere and perfect for a late evening summer stroll with an icecream!
There is something for everybody in Nice, Museums,Parks, Opera House, Shopping in the quirky backstreets of the old town to the grand "Harrods of France" Galleries Layfette at Place Massena. A perfect destination whatever your interests are.
