This is the second year we have stayed here, it's a great location and unusually has a terrace with great views which is best in the morning for breakfast. It's got great character. We eat in most of the time and it had good facilities and good local shops at the bottom of the hill - we didn't have to pay tourist prices. The old village where it is located has lovely little lanes which spiral up to the old square and castle - with great restaurants and cafes. We love this place! Good location to explore south coast. |

Maison Bleue is a lovely cottage in a delightful village that is totally unspoilt by tourism. It is very well equipt and surprisingly easy to find, even when using public transport. Its exterior dimensions belie the amount of available space within. It is clean and tastefully decorated and there is more than ample bed linen and towels provided. There is a lovely view from the garden over towards Nice. > The village of Haute de Cagnes is one of the loveliest places we have visited. It is a small medieval village that looks like it has not changed for centuries. We enjoyed walking up to the main square by the castle in an evening, after having had dinner at one of the lovely restaurants and having a drink whilst enjoying the lovely view or watching the locals play petanque. The road through the village is quite narrow, consequently you will not be bothered by traffic noise! > The village is served by a free shuttle bus that runs regularly down to the main bus terminus in Cagnes sur Mer. From the bus terminus there are regular buses to Nice, Cannes, Grasse and St. Paul de Vence. A little further on is the train station, with a regular trains that will take you to Nice, Cannes, Monaco, Antibes and Villefranche to name just a few.Public transport is very cheap and reliable and so hiring a car is absolutely not necessary. We would highly recommend this cottage. > |
