Nice the capital of the Cote D'Azur, also known as "la Belle". Mild climate, rich in colour, diversity, history, art, architecture, food. A favourite holiday get away for many an aristocrat, (incl Queen Victoria herself).
Since the end of the 19th century tourists have being coming here for the areas believed therapeutic virtues based on the local climate.
Quote by the famous sculptor César: "Nice is like a woman city. We love her passionately, we may leave her, but we always remain faithful..."
Nice / Carre d'Or area
The apartment is in an elegant “belle époque” building with its ornamental façade and charming wrought-iron lift, high ceilings and nice wide entrance.
Have a look at some of the modern art gallerys that adorn the street, or around the corner join the bustling 'Zone Pieton' and enjoy the shops, bars and cafés, fancy restaurants. If you want to relax, walk a 100 metres the other direction to the famous Promenade des Anglais and bathe in the azur bleu Mediterranean. If swimming/jogging is not your thing, how about having your morning café in one of the beachside cafés while listening to the waves play with the pebbles.
If markets are your interest, nearby there is La Cité de la Buffa, the biggest market in the centre of Nice with lots of stalls selling quality fresh produce and local specialities. Or head east along the promenade and pop into La Vielle Ville, Nice's old town, visit the flower market on the Cours Saleya, 'the prettiest market in France', or get your fresh fruit and veg, and local hand-made ravioli, the traditional food of the Niçois. On Monday morning's there is an antique market, whether bargain hunting or just looking you'll be intrigued by all the treasures to be found.
Nightlife, there are plenty of charming restaurants in the side streets or if your looking for some lively atmosphere, theres a choice between the 'Zone Pieton' or the Old town. Head back to the Cours Saleya, illuminated by the lights of restaurants, pubs and bistros, it is the meeting point for young and old. The welcome pack provided will give you some good references.

Further details outdoors: Easy access to 2 public carparks - The apartment does not come with a parking space. A car is not required as the apartment is very central. Should you arrive by car or hire a car, there are parking meters in all the streets around and there is a multi-storey car park within 100 metres. There is free parking about 10/15 minutes walk away down the promenade, but it can be very difficult to find a free space.
