Nice is a Cosmopolitan resort with fashionable shops and restaurants, a good base to explore the region.

Wander at random through the narrow streets of the old town and then stroll along the famous "Promenade" before entering into the heart of the city with its rich architectural and cultural heritage and its numerous parks and gardens.

Places to visit:

The Russian Church(Orthodox Russe) is just around the corner from the apartment,

Nice old town (vieux nice): The markets in the old part of the town are a must see. They sell flowers, fruit and antiques. The same area in the evening is rich in people wining dining and watching the world go by! There are many bars and restaurants in the area along with live music to make a very pleasant night out.

You can climb to the Parc du Chateau (or take the small tourist ''petit train'') where the views of nice and the promenade are amazing. Up here is a park with a café serving refreshments.

The beach front is packed with restaurants bars and cafes. Sun beds are for hire and watersports are available. The promenade along the beach is alive with roller-skater, joggers and people walking and a great place to people watch!

It is also worth paying a visit to neighbouring towns Monaco ( which host its famous Grand Prix in May) and Cannes (which hosts the film festival in May) are only 20-30 mins away by car or alternatively can be accessed by bus which is €1.5 per trip or via train. Other places worth visiting are Antibes, Juan les Pins, St Tropez and Grasse (which is famous for its perfume factory) and Eze.

The attraction of Nice lies in the sheer range of activities it makes possible. Rollerblade along the Promenade des Anglais in the morning, take in a museum in the early afternoon, stop for flowers or fruits glaces (candied fruits) on the Cours Saleya on the way to the beach, dine in the balmy open air until late into the evening. The town also makes a great base for exploring with excellent rail links to the beautiful town of Antibes, the wealthy glittering resort of Cannes, the delightful beach at Villefranche and the romantic principality of Monaco. Nice is, quite simply, an unforgettable experience.

Nice

Ideal for the Formula One Race Monaco, Cannes Film Festival , the Acropolis Centre for International Conventions.

Cours Saleya in the old town has a weekly flea market on Mondays were you can search for bargain antiques. Nice has a world reknowned Opera House, L'Opera de Nice, for Opera Lovers.

"Beautiful modern apartment, centrally located with every convenience close at hand."

What could be better than staying in a modern apartment in central Nice, where every morning you can step out and are at the boulangerie to buy your morning croissant for breakfast or the food store to buy your supplies in just 60 seconds?
The apartment is centrally situated on the corner of Boulevard Gambetta and Boulevard Parc Imperial and there was nothing more enjoyable than sitting people watch while having breakfast before walking (just 10 minutes) to the promenade. What is really nice about it's location is that it is in an area where the locals live so 'real' French life is on your doorstep.
The apartment itself is light and airy with every convenience and of course air con which is much needed in summer. I slept on the bed settee which was extremely comfortable and my friends used the bedroom with two equally comfy beds. There is a modern bathroom and kitchen and a balcony which we used to sit on in the evening while having a glass of wine and watching the world go by. The beautiful Russian Orthodox church is nearby and well worth a visit.
The owners were a pleasure to deal with and every communication was dealt with by them politely and informatively.
The public transport system in Nice is amazing. We caught the No 98 bus from the airport. It stopped right beside Boulevard Gambetta and in 10 minutes we were at the apartment. We could also have taken the No 99 which would have brought us to the railway station just 5 minutes away and would probably have been better. When we were travelling home we were able to catch the No23 bus right outside our accommodation to terminal 1 and then transfer by shuttle to terminal 2.
Each day we went to somewhere different. One day we explored Nice itself and on the other two days we went to Villefranche-sur-Mer and Monaco. We were able to get the bus from right outside the apartment and then transfer in the city itself to get to our destinations.
If I were to return to Nice, I would definitely stay here again as the apartment, and the location tick all the right boxes. I highly recommend staying here.

Many thanks for your review. We are delighted that your experience in Nice and in our apartment was so good. You have captured the very reasons we love Nice and why we chose to buy there. We are new this year to Holiday Lettings and we are so pleased that you found our apartment was central and had everything you needed to make your French experience so enjoyable.
