About this location

The French Riviera - Cote d'Azur region

Sightseeing is endless; you have the historical old town of Nice; the restaurants and yachts in the port of Nice; a stroll along the Promenade des Anglais; the views from the Chateau of Nice; the Museums of Art in Nice; the animals & plants at Parc Phoenix; the charming Mediterranean towns of Villefranche-sur-Mer and Beaulieu-sur-Mer; the zoo and coastal walk around Cap-Ferrat; the perched village at Eze; the casinos and port of Monaco; and the Italian border town of Menton. It is also possible to cross over the border to experience the flavour of Italy!

Other entertainment includes shopping, the casinos & nightlife of Nice, boat trips, cinemas, wine tasting, helicopter rides, or just good old relaxing on the beach!

Local shops and boulangeries can be found just 200 metres away, a supermarket 500 metres and restaurants & cafes directly downstairs on the quay front! You also have a great selection of restaurants to choose from in the nearby old town of Nice. There is a great choice of shopping in the department stores, the designer shops and gift shops of Nice.

Local markets are held in Nice and Villefranche. The most well-known is held 900 metres away in the 'Cours Saleya' in Nice, adjacent to the old town, and offers an array of olives, flowers and fresh produce. There is also an antiques market held here on a Monday.

Sporting activities in the area are abundant– there is sailing, diving, fishing, water sports, jogging and rollerblading along the Promenade des Anglais, and of course the beaches. You are also in very close proximity to the mountains and hills of the Alpes Maritimes region here, which makes walking and cycling very popular.

Beaches can be found just 500 metres away at the 'Plage de la Reserve' and right along the Promenade des Anglais 900 metres away. From here you can enjoy the sunshine glittering on the azure blue waters of the Med, watch the many boats crossing the 'Baie des Anges', and see the planes and helicopters coming in and out of the airport.

The ski stations of Greoliere, Valberg, Isola 2000 and Auron are between 1 and 2 hour's drive away if you fancy a couple of days winter sports!

Getting around is very easy from here. You have the bus and train services, which have a great network along the coast and further inland - the nearest bus stop is 300 metres away and Nice Riquier train station is also within walking distance. A car is really not necessary here.

"The perfect holiday in Nice, thanks to Paul, Joie de Vivre"

It was a super nice apartment, where we were greeted by a smiling Sandra, who told us everything we needed to know.
Everything lived up to our expectations, and the Apartment had all the modern conveniences, and everything worked perfectly.
All in all a wonderful experience and we can highly recommend Joie de Vivre that complied with all agreements and always gave quick response to our emails.
Many thanks to our contact Paul.

"Lovely, elegant apartment"

Lovely, elegant apartment around the old port in Nice. Perfectly situated with restaurants and supermarket nearby. Very clean and well presented. Sandra met us on arrival and was very helpful. Close to both beach and town. We had some lovely walks around the coast to Villefranche, Beaulieu sur Mer and Cap Ferrat. The walks are very easy and gentle but with fabulous scenery and the stunning blue Med always there. Check out the fabulous houses around Cap Ferrat! Alternatively catch a train in the other direction to Antibes - gorgeous! Make use of the local bus that runs from Nice to Menton (another lovely place to go for lunch) at just 1.50 euros.

"Fantastic apartment in excellant position"

As we were travelling with 2 other people, friend and sister, we needed an apt with 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms in a convenient position with a view and balcony and Apt Azalee ticked all the boxes. We had a wonderful view onto the Port of Nice on the 2nd fl with a lift. Its was an easy walk to the Old Town, the Intermarche supermarket was a few minutes away and there were many other cafes and shops nearby. Sandra, the host, was very welcoming and explained the use of all appliances as well as suggesting restaurants to eat at and where to find the supermarket. There is a good public transport system and buses at the door as well as at the end of the Quai. I can highly recommend this apartment and would certainly stay there again.
