Local facilities: Around the corner from the apartment (corner of Rue Rossini and Rue Gambetta) the restaurant L'Occitanie served great food at reasonable prices. It's increasingly popular so be sure to reserve your table. The Old Town market is a must - the flower market is open every day except Mondays when an antiques market takes over.
The French Riviera - Cote d'Azur region
One of the best ways to see the Riviera is by train. Visit Monaco, Antibes or Villefranche or the Friday morning market in Ventimillia just across the border into Italy. You could also hop on the train to the lemon festival in nearby Menton in February or the Cannes film festival and Monaco Grand Prix in May.
The nearest ski resort is 60 km from Nice at GREOLIERES (1400 to 1800 m)
Restaurants, shops and markets are five minutes walk. If you know the Negresco, one of the world’'s most famous hotels, then your walk to the beach takes you past this landmark.
The apartment is in the heart of Musiciens, a part of central Nice with street names such as Rossini, Verdi and Mozart. This part of Nice was built in the thirties and the apartment is in one of many art deco buildings sprinkled around this district. The apartment is close to the beautiful Alsace-Lorraine Square, with its statues, wonderful trees and great facilities for kids.
The nearby Rialto Cinema (Rue Rivoli) shows films in English - the cheap night is every Monday. For museum lovers, admission is free on the first Sunday of each month. Three or four day passes are also available for seven of the city's largest museums.
Local activities include fishing, wind-surfing, mountain biking, diving, surfing, swimming, tennis, walking, sailing, cycling, golf, water skiing, roller blading on the Promenade des Anglais.

"Comfortable, spacious and central!"
My husband and I stayed in this apartment for one week at the beginning of September when it was still very hot in Nice. The high ceilings and refreshing through breeze help to make the apartment a cool retreat at the end of a day's sightseeing. The beds and the couch are extremely comfortable and the shower works well, unlike many places where we have stayed! The owner was kind enough to post us a map of Nice in advance together with many suggestions of things to do. There is also a huge amount of information in the apartment. Location cannot be bettered. There is an excellent patisserie on the corner where you can get a superb cup of coffee and several good restaurants only a few minutes walk away. The Promenade des Anglais and the Negresco are only ten minutes walk away. This was our first visit to Nice. We loved it and plan to return. We will certainly try to use this apartment again.

"Large, light and airy, clean, excellent positioned apartment with air con."
A very comfortable apartment, plenty of room for the four of us who went (ourselves and our daughter and son-in-law.). Everything needed for a holiday is there and with the added essential of air-conditioning which is a huge bonus in the heat of the Summer. The balcony allows for a table for four and a couple of sun-loungers (just) and is part shaded for added comfort. Although it doesn't have an ultra modern feel it is nevertheless an easy place to stay in. It does feel like a home. There is a considerable library, no need to take your own books and a few DVD's for those needing a tv fix. Nice itself is fabulous. Clean, tidy, safe, with endless restruants and bars offering a great choice of food and prices. As a holiday resort it is difficult to beat, classy, interesting and very easy to get to. A 10 minute stroll from the apartment gets you onto the prom where you can wander or just sit and watch the endless flow of interesting folk and expensive cars (I've never seen so many Ferraris, Bentleys, Mercs, Aston Martins in one day in one place). Priced to reflect the fact it's in Nice and in a good area in that city the apartment offers good value overall. The owners are polite and ever helpful. In summary an excellent rental, in fact we've been back 4 times now and our daughter even had her honeymoon there, she loved it so much. Try and go out of school holidays if you can as Nice is that little bit quieter and also because I'm a teacher and I'm worried it'll get booked up when I want to go!

"Perfect centre for exploring Nice and surrounding area"
Spotless flat with very comfortable, quiet accomodation. Access easy with a lift. Ideal situation for airport buses, main railway station and airport bus. Local shops for supplies with a real French flavour. Easy walking distance to the beach and nearby restaurants, althought we chose to walk most evenings to the old town that was buzzing with excitement. I have stayed in this flat before and plan to do so again.

"Beautiful apartment in great location"
Travelled with a friend for a relaxing break and this was perfect. Easily arranged with comprehensive directions/instructions from the owners about the apartment and Nice itself. The apartment is well appointed, clean and comfortable with a twin and a double room, shower room and spacious living/dining/kitchen area. The real jewel is the balcony which has a partially covered area with a table (sheltered from sun and rain!) and an uncovered area that gets the sun from lunchtime 'til sunset - perfect if like us one person is a sun worshipper and the other burns even in cloudy weather. The apartment is in a quiet residential area, but the beach is only a 10 min stroll away, old town 20 mins, with great selection local shops and transport links nearby (5 min walk to train station then 20mins to Monaco). Definitely recommend booking your airport transfers with Christophe (as recommended by the owners) as he had a wealth of local information! Hope to return soon...

"Perfect location, everything you need locally, great base for exploring Nice and surrounds."
Comfortable, clean, spacious apartment in a quiet block. Everything we needed for cooking. Enjoyed breakfast on the balcony. Various beaches within easy reach, plenty of local info in the apartment. Particularly loved Oceanographique in Monaco, Marineland in Antibes, walking in the mountains at Tende.

"Great holiday in Nice"
This is a lovely apartment. Each morning I would sip my tea sitting on the lovely balcony. There is a shop just outside the main door which was really handy. The apartment is bright and spacious and very homely. It is located very close to the Promenade, just about 6 or 7 minutes away, where it is great to walk and enjoy the sea air. It is also within walking distance of the old part of Nice. The train station is also close by so we could easily travel to Monaco and Cannes. The kitchen area was spacious and well equipped. What was really good was the attention to detail by Nicola and Christophe, who were always ready to answer any questions and help with anything if required. Thanks again, I would love to go back again!

"Perfect Holiday Base"
We had a great holiday in the apartment in July 2011. With three children (two teenagers), the central location to the city amenities allowed us all a bit of independence, with beach, shops and restaurants a stroll away. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, giving us a home from home base to stay in which is far better than an tourist apartment or hotel room. As the apartment is in a typical Nice residential area, it also gave us a taste of living in a french neighbourhood. Lots to see and do in Nice, as well as the shops and the market. The Matisse Museum and the Modern Art Museum were the highlights. The excellent public transport system meant that we didn't need to hire a car, we simply took the train to spend the day on the beach in Ville Franche or go further to Monaco for the day. We didn't have enough time to travel to all the sights along the coast during our stay, so we will have to go back again sometime to see more. We would recommend the apartment and location highly.
