Home description
The city of Nice is summed up by this walking area, the most famous in the city. It has all the colours of the “Provence”, and it is surrounded by nice café's terraces, bars and restaurants. You will also get easily by foot to the shops and most of the museums. Everyday you will find different markets: the flower and vegetables market, the antiquity market on Monday and an artisanal market in the evening in the summer… At any time, there is a great animation and a good atmosphere.
The sea is at about 30 metres and Castel private beach about 50 metres.
If you have some free time, try to visit the Misericordia Church which is just next to the apartment, and is a baroque masterpiece and walk around in the streets of the old town of Nice or on the castle hill to get a wonderful overview of the city.
Leading from the living room is a balcony with stunning sea views, furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine in a sunny atmosphere.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
Along the coast, Cannes, Monte Carlo and St Tropez are just some of the world's famous resorts which speak for themselves. All can be easily reached within 20 minutes by train from the main railway station on Avenue Thiers, just eight minutes walk from the apartment.
Inland are picturesque villages such as Eze with its botanical gardens and Mediterranean views; Grasse famous for its perfume shops and Saint-Paul-de-Vence for its art galleries and cemetrey, where artist Marc Chagall is buried. All can be reached by coach from the main bus station, the "Gare routière" on Promenade du Paillon, 5 minutes walk from the apartment.
For guests with a little more time or those looking for something a little different, there are a number of lesser known destinations and activities off the beaten track . Examples include a visit to the Iles de Lérins, a small unspoilt archipelago just off the coast of Cannes, perfect for walkers, or a trip on the Train des Pignes, "taking the slow train" into the mountains and villages behind Nice.
The climate is warm during the summer period and sunny during most of the year.
Nice area
Whatever the purpose of your visit or the length of your stay, there is plenty to see and do in Nice and the Côte d'Azur. As well as being a beautifully situated coastal resort, Nice has all the cultural attractions of a large town and boasts the greatest number of museums and galleries outside Paris.
During the day, you can visit the old city of Nice with his old palace (palais Lascaris) and all the churches. You probably also will walk around and discover the typical architecture from the Middle Ages.
During the evening and more, you will find in the old town many restaurants and places to go out as long as you wish.
