Le Contadour is a charming provencal stone "mas" built on seven natural stone terraces covered in ancient olive trees, fig, lemon, cherry and orange trees. It stands perched, with extraordinary uninterrupted views south to the Mediterranean, only 20 minutes away. Within the grounds is a beautiful pool surrounded by exotic flowers and natural stone walls. A BBQ and pizza oven are built into the rocks for your use. There is also an outdoor bar, plus fridge, and garden/pool furniture.
The 'architect designed' apartment within the villa, offered for holiday rentals, is completely private, having its own entrance and terraces. A large beamed sitting/dining room opens onto a private terrace, with ancient olive trees and balcony. It is elegantly furnished with antiques. A large archway opens onto a fully-fitted kitchen with every mod-con and decorated with hand-painted provencal tiles. This also opens onto a lovely private terrace where one can dine under the ancient olive trees. A peaceful location with many lovely walks, yet only a 20 min drive from all the nightlife and beaches, golf, tennis, fishing, and cycling.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
The department of the Alpes Maritimes benefits from over 300 days of sunshine a year. It has one foot in the Mediterranean, and the other in the mountains of the Alpes. There are over 40 kms. of beaches, bays, and innumerable mountain villages, approaching the Italian border. Within the department, there are many beautiful parks, one of which is the Mercatour renouned for its magnificent walks. The area is also famous for its production of well-known perfumes, and flower growing is especially cultivated in the region. Excellent wine and olive oil are produced locally.
Nice / Gattieres area
Gattieres, is a medieval perched village, which has hardly changed since the 12th century, and only 20 MINS FROM NICE! It has all that one could require whilst on holiday, from a renowned bakery which provides even for the House of Monaco to excellent restaurants with regional, provencal menus. In July, a well-known professional opera performs in the open squares of the village. Gattieres, is centrally situated to visit the famous coastal resorts of Monaco, Nice, Cannes, or St. Tropez. For the active, there is sailing, swimming, golf, tennis, fishing, climbing, walking, visiting the many museums and art galleries, showing works from the famous provencal artists. Every pursuit can be found in the playground of the Cote d'Azur. Including the many activities, courses in painting, pottery making, languages, and cooking are available locally.
How to get there
Fly into Nice using a budget airline such as Easy Jet, hire a car over the internet (far cheaper) then drive along the R202 heading north, direction Dignes. Cross the bridge at La Manda, and take directions Gattieres. The villa is located on the Route du St. Laurent, 650 metres from the village. Journey time, approx. 20 mins. from the airport of Nice International.

Further details indoors: There are two delightful bedrooms. One has twin beds, (which can be converted to a double bed,) and faces south, with french windows to a terrace overlooking the valley. The other, equally charming room, also has twin beds. Both bedrooms are linked to a spacious, elegant shower room and toilet. There are plenty of storage areas. The apartment measures 100sqm. Every comfort has been incorporated to ensure that your stay is even better than "home from home".
For your added enjoyment we have a satellite tv system with many English/German/Italian speaking programs. Plus a full video and DVD library with all the latest films. You will also find a small library of English books and games. We also have Wi-Fi internet connection. English, Italian, French and some Spanish spoken.
Further details outdoors: The pool is shared with the on-site owners, but your privacy is observed at all times. We usually swim when guests decide to go out! We have a secure parking area within the electric gates of the villa. The BBQ, and pizza oven are available for your use, plus the poolside furniture. You are welcome to pick the fruit from the gardens. There is also an outdoor bar next to the built-in stone BBQ. A private terrace next to the kitchen is furnished with table and chairs, plus loungers. There are many toys for the children.

Conditions
Families are welcome, but unfortunately, pets, no as we have two lovely cats. Smoking is only permitted outside on the balconies or terraces as we have smoke alarms inside the apartment. Refundable security deposit required. (subject to no damage) Deposit non refundable. (travel insurance recommended)
