Home description
This bright spacious apartment is situated bang in the middle of Nice's pedestrian old town, so no traffic noise! Surrounded by bakeries, markets, small shops and restaurants. The beach is a 5 to 10 minute stroll through the old town, and the airport à 4 Euro shuttle from the Gare Routiere (bus station)- a mere 200 meters from the flat). From the bus station you can also get buses to just about any town in the region for 1€30 (including ski resorts in winter). The nearest (brand new) tramway stop at 200 meters is far enough not to be heard, but within easy walking distance: it will carry you to the train station (Gare Thiers) or Nice's main shopping district (Jean Medecin) with ease. Though in a traditional Nicois building, this apartment has been fully modernised to provide maximum comfort (see below). The bedroom at the rear of the apartement (behind a dividing wall but not fully closed from the lounge area) has a king size double bed, whilst the lounge sofa can also be converted to a double bed.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
The old city is the most picturesque areas of Nice and is sandwiched between the long beach and the Parc du Chateau, a large luxuriant municipal park built on the hill between the old town and the port. In an environment of baroque architecture, you will discover colours and light of Cours Saleya with its famous Flower Market, the place Rossetti with its Italian atmosphere, the place du Palais ... but also the narrow streets, the " trompe-l'oeil " façades and the terraces in the shade of parasols, the numerous churches and the steps which lead up to the magnificent park of the chateaux. The best way to discover all these treasures is on foot in order to fully appreciate the unique atmosphere which reigns in this neighbourhood. Nice is one of the sunniest places in France with over 300 days of sunshine a year. Temperatures reach 35 degrees in late July/Early August and rarely drop below freezing in winter. Behind nice the alps rise steeply so fresh mountain air is only an hour's drive away (or in winter - skiing).
Nice / Vieux Nice area
There are many museums and festivals in nice, most within walking distance of the apartment - for example, the both the Museum of Modern Art and the Palais Lascaris are less than a kilometre away. The Cours Saleya market is a vibrant and enlivening sight every day Tuesday to Sunday (Mondays it is replaced by an antiques market), and in the evenings the streets of the old town are filled with the tables of the small restaurants and bars. Further details indoors: The apartment is fitted with all mod cons including induction cooking hobs, microwave/ combination oven, dishwasher, washing machine, air conditioning for the heat of the day (not available at night) and ceiling fans. Competely unlimited phone calls to most countries are included (landlines only). On the technology front, WIFI, 8 Mbit ethernet internet access, and flat screen TV with English language cable channels are all provided. You can even plug in and play your music from your ipod, or other mp3 player. Please note: We do not provide a computer, but Wifi or ethernet internet access is available to those with their own laptop, PDA, Iphone, Ipod touch or similiar.
