Home description

This two room, modern, luxury apartment includes an entrance hall, sitting room with comfortable convertible double sleeping couch, tv, dvd, internet connection, dining table which seats 6, and balcony for people watching while sipping an apertif. The kitchen is equipped with ceramic hob/cooker plaque, dishwasher, clothes washer, microwave oven, refrigerator/freezer, breakfast counter. The bedroom is very comfortable with its firm double mattress, built in closet, and small balcony just right for a nightcap. There are 2 bathrooms, one with toilet and sink, the other with bathtub and sink.

There is underground parking available for rental under the complex and an entrance from the Promenade or from Rue de France, 29, where the garage entrance is located. The location is ideal for a relaxing beach holiday, sightseeing and touring the area, shopping in the boutiques which line the Pedestrian walkway the "Pietonne", enjoying nightlife in Old Nice or in one of the two Casinos on the Promenade,

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

The Cote d'Azur is the southern Mediterranean coast of France. It has an ideal climate for summer recreational activities and very pleasant winter temperatures which have traditionally attracted the British to winter here, and the Russian czars even before them. Monte Carlo is famous for its Formula 1 race at the end of May, its Casino, night life, and numerous festivals and musical events throughout the summer months. Grasse is the centre of perfume making along the coast, the Provence area which includes Aix-en-Provence, Arles, and Avignon is famous for the impressionist painters who worked there during the 19th and 20th centuries and there are always many visitors to the lavendar fields and wine making establishments. Perpignan and Carcasson are the most southern points and offer canal trips by barge, as well as horse-back riding through the suggestive countryside.

Nice / Promenade des Anglais area

Nice itself has so many attractions in the summer that you will certainly find things to do and see everyday of your stay. These include visits to Parc Phoenix with its exotic flora and fauna, attending the International Festival of Piano, concerts in the Abbay of Thoronet, a Joe Cocker concert "Hymm for my Soul" in Cannet, or a variety of international entertainers at the Monte Carlo Sporting Summer Festival. Water sports include canyoning and rafting in the grand canyon of Verdon or Roya valley, sea exploration and diving from the Quai Lunel - Port of Nice, excursions by boat departing from Villefranche or Nice to Monaco, Villefranche, Cannes, and St: Tropez.. There are also numerous tours and guided visits to the small, charming medieval towns of Eze, perched high above the sea, Grasse famous for its perfume factories, Tourettes, the city of the violets, Saint Paul, magnificent medieval village full of artisan workshops and art galleries not to mention Biot renowned place for its glass blowers, Vallauris, the city of ceramics where Picasso created the fresco "War and Peace" and St. Jean Cap Ferrat with its historic Ephrussi de Rothschild villa and gardens. Children will enjoy visiting the Zoo Park in Cap-Ferrat, the Zoological Park in Frejus, Koaland in Menton, Aqualand in Sainte-Maxime and Marineland in Antibes.

How to get there

The Nice airport is very well served by international companies such as Delta, Air France, Lufthansa, British Airways, Iberia, SAS and Aerlingus. In addition there are many low-cost airlines flying in and out of Nice including Easyjet, Blu-Express,Germanwings, Jet2, Sky Europe and BMI.
The Nice central train station SNCF is also well served with local and trans-European trains.
The Nice Port has daily arrivals and departures for Corsica and Sardegna as well as Cote d'Azur boat tours visiting towns along the coast from Monaco to St. Tropez daily during the summer.

The apartment is very modern having been completed in 2004 and has marble tile floors, double glass sliding door windows leading out onto both balconies (off the living room and off the bedroom); computer with Wi-fi or plug-in connection; a guardian during the day for the complex which consists of 4 buildings, wide walk-ways and a garden within the complex. There is a passageway from the complex directly to and from the Promenade des Anglais with its Casino,outdoor and indoor restaurants and beach. Beach facilities include free beaches which alternate with paying facilities where you can rent your chair for the day or the week and be served lunch or dinner or just drinks. Bed sheets, bathroom towels and beach towels are provided for convenience.

This luxury residential complex is situated in the "Carré d'Or" (Golden Square) which denominates the most luxurious and sought-after residential area bounded by the Promenade des Anglais seafront to the south; the Ave. Victor Hugo to the north with the Alsace-Lorraine park; the Place Massena and Rue Jean Medicin (principal shopping area) to the east and the Rue Gambetta to the west with its supermarkets and fresh fish and produce market. One can circulate within this area without need for a car and find all amenities from coffee bars, ice cream parlors, snack bars, bistrots, restaurants, newspaper stands, cinemas, bio healthfood shops, bakeries, post office, boutiques, ethnic eateries, pharmacies, interior decoration shops, bazaars, hairdressers.

Rental conditions require courtesy, cleanliness and respect for others privacy within the building and complex. No excessive noise is allowed after 11pm which means no loud parties or music after that hour. I will meet you at the apartment upon your arrival to show you around and again to check you out when you leave so as to be able to return your security deposit if there is no damage to the apartment or its contents. I will be available very close by if needed and can come to your rescue in case of an emergency.

Conditions

Bookings are made by your email request for a period which is indicated on the calendar to be unrented. I to will reply to your request with availability status and upon receipt of my reply, you must indicate whether or not you would like to reserve the apartment for the period you have requested. When I receive your affirmative response I email you the booking form which you must print out, fill in and fax back to me. When I receive your booking form, I will send you a confirmative email with instructions for payment of the 20% booking fee which is part of the rent. The remainder of rent will be due 8 weeks before your arrival date. You must then keep me informed of your exact arrival time, and if you would like to take advantage of our airport pick-up service.

A security deposit of 300 Euros is required and will be refunded at the end of your stay provided no damage is done to the apartment or its contents. Bookings for rental stays are made by booking form which is emailed to you when you decide to make a reservation. When you return the completed form, you will receive instructions for payment of the 20% non-refundable booking fee. This amount is then deducted from your total weekly cost and the balance of payment is due 8 weeks in advance of the rental period. Both booking fees and rent are payable by direct bank transfer.
