The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
Provence is famed for its stunning lavender fields, spectacular climate and limestone cottages. The relaxed, laid back way of living is evident in every Medieval village. The area is a feast for the senses; Grasse is France's perfume capital, the local markets will make the taste buds water and the scents from countryside gardens are second to none.
Provence is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world, with its blend of sun-baked hilltop villages and glamorous resorts like St Tropez and Nice. Nice shows the influence of years as a world-class resort with its famous Promenade des Anglais and the city offers a real taste of France with its amazing bouillabaisse.
Its warm, intense light, reflected by the waters of the Mediterannean, inspired painters such as Van Gogh, Cézanne and Picasso to create some of their finest work here.
Nice / Central Nice area
Nice is the perfect holiday destination. It has a wonderfully mild climate all year round, yet the proximity of the Alpes, means that you can ski in the morning and spend the afternoon sunbathing on the beach.
