Home description

Apartment Celeste is adjacent to the Castle Park in the old port. A five minute walk from the promenade des Anglais and a short stroll to the old town. It affords easy access to the action-restaurants, bars, market and bustle of the old town.
The old port area has many restaurants and bars including the best place for socca (local speciality), vegetarian, fish, Asian and Italian resaurants. Local shops and markets make eating al fresco a delight. Local fish bar-b-qued on the terrace-What could be better!

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

Nice is a great base for exploring Cote D' Azur and Provence. Monaco, St Paul de Vence,Antibes, St Tropez, Cannes and Italy are easily accessed by train, bus or car.
Nice is only an hour away from the ski resorts, and it's close enough to Italy for you to be able to take a day trip to the alpine Italian villages on the other side of the border. It is possible in the winter to catch an early morning bus to the ski resort for a modest 30 euros-including your ski pass!
Winter sun at the beach and a couple of days skiing- perfect!


Nice / Port of Nice area

*The old port area has many restaurants and bars including the best place for socca (local speciality),vegetariran, fish, Asian and Italian resaurants.
*Local shops include wonderful boulangeries,patisseries fruit shops and a great find on our last visit fresh pasta and cheese shop just behind the port.
*Transport links are excellent including bus, train and eventually tram! Dining,visiting art galleries, hiking, visiting vineyards,skiing,sun worshipping -all is possible from here.
*Up to date details of local events will be at the apartment for your arrival.


How to get there

From Nice airport take the 98 Airport bus to Gare Routiers. A
short 10 minute walk via Place de Garibaldi, Rue de Catherine de Seguran
leads into Rue Foresta.(The park is on your right-walk towards the sea!)
From June 15th- Sept 15th the 99 Airport bus service comes down to the port
via Gare SNCF. Alight at Catherine de Seguran- 3minute walk.
From Gare SNCF there is a regular bus service to the port-no.30 and 99(see
above) The 7 mile taxi ride from the airport costs around 25 euros.

*Situated in the old convent, the apartment is cool and quiet. It is on the second floor without a lift. It is unsuitable for mobility impaired people.
*The apartment has an American kitchen,small shower room and living room.A day bed converts into a kingsize double bed or two single beds. A small dining table and four chairs allows indoor dining.
*There is a separate large double bedroom.
* A small staircase leads to a utility landing with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
*From there a ship's galley style staircase leads up to the roof terrace. These would be difficult for very young children to negotiate. This terrace is only accesible from the flat and is therefore completely private.
