About the home

Apartment Celeste is adjacent to the Castle Park and to the Port. A five minute walk from the promenade des Anglais and its beaches, and a short stroll to the Old Town.
The buiding is old, elegant and typical. The apartment is clean, well decorated and has a huge terrace- solarium - unique in this central location.
In the Port and the Old town areas, there are many restaurants and bars, a typical market , and all kinds of shops. Only a small walk to the Opera, the Nice Theater, the Modern Art Museum, and art galleries.
Many places to eat "al fresco", when you don't do barbecue on the terrace.

*Situated in an historical building, the apartment is cool and quiet. It is on the second and last floor without a lift. It is unsuitable for mobility impaired people.
*The apartment has an American kitchen, small shower-room and living- room. A sofa converts into a kingsize double bed or two single beds. A dining table and four chairs allow indoor dining.
*There is a separate large double bedroom.
* A small staircase leads to a utility landing with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
*From there a ship's galley style staircase leads up to the roof terrace. These would be difficult for very young children to negotiate. This terrace is only accessible from the flat and is therefore completely private.

*a 30 sq metre roof terrace is equipped with electricity, hot and cold water
*an out door equipped 'kitchen'.
* a barbecue,
*outdoor furniture including dining table and chairs and huge parasol.

*The terrace can only be accessed through the apartment and is completely private.
*There is no charge for linen and towels, cleaning, and meet and greet, except in june, july and august, when a charge of 100 euros is required on arrival. During this same period of summer, minimum let is one week.
Guests should bring own beach towels.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

Nice is a great base for exploring Côte D' Azur and Provence. Monaco, Menton, Cap Ferrat, Villefranche-sur-mer are accessible by bus, from the stop Segurane, 5 minutes walk from the apartment. Saint- Paul-de-Vence, Antibes, St Tropez, Cannes and Italy are easily accessed by train, bus or car.
Nice is only an hour away from the ski resorts, and it's close enough to Italy for you to be able to take a day trip to the alpine Italian villages or to the Riviera. It is possible in the winter to catch an early morning bus to the ski resort and go back at the close of day for 8 euros.
Winter sun at the beach and a couple of days skiing- perfect!

The Nice / Port of Nice area

*The Port is an attractive touristic resort. The Old Town has romantic small streets, climbing to the Castle Park (Colline du Château), From the hill, superb views of the Coast and the city. Downtown, good places to eat socca (local speciality), sea-food, vegetarian, asian and italian specialities.
*Local shops include wonderful boulangeries, pâtisseries, pasta and cheese shops, wine-cellars, and all kinds of local or folkloric gifts.
*Transport links are excellent and cheap. Buses in Nice and to all destinations in the department have a cost of one euro ! Same price for the tram.
Dining, visiting art galleries, hiking, visiting vineyards, medieval villages of the "arrière-pays", skiing ,sun worshipping - all is possible from here.

From Nice airport take the 98 Airport bus, direction Riquier, stop Segurane. A 5 minutes walk to the apartment, rue de Foresta.
From Gare SNCF take the tramway, direction Pont Michel, stop place Garibaldi. A 10 minutes walk to the apartment.
From the airport, a taxi costs around 30 euros.

Had a fantastic time in Nice. Weather was glorious and hot!
Your have a lovely clean, bright and comfortable apartment. Also well equipped with everything you can think of. We found nothing wrong with the building, as you said before the stairs are corridors are spotlessly clean and the "decor" as such shows the history and age of the building.Location is fantastic and the terrace is a great addition to your apartment. I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed staying in your apartment at the beginning of October. We visit Nice frequently and this was by far the best apartment we have rented, both in terms of location and the accommodation itself.
