The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
The Riviera ("Cote d'Azur", as the French and Italians name it) is one of the most popular destinations in the world, with its blend of sun-baked hilltop villages and glamorous resorts like Saint-Tropez or Nice.
Built on a series of hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Nice comprises of many interesting "quartiers", the most fascinating being the Old Town (Vieux Nice), Cimiez and the XIXth century-built area close to Hotel Negresco.
Nice is 20 minutes train away from the Italian border, from Cannes and its famous Film Festival (May), as well as from Monaco and its Grand Prix (May), and from Juan-les-Pins and its Jazz and Fireworks festivals (July).
The surrounding "Alpes Maritimes" are easy to reach by car, bus or train, and offer superb walks and spectacular sceneries combining old villages, pine tree forests and steep cliffs falling into the blue sea.
Nice / Cimiez area
Apart from the obvious attractions of the sunshine, the beaches and more restaurants than you can take a French stick at, Nice has many interesting places to visit.
You will love the fabulous Promenade des Anglais (on the bay), with its breathtaking views, as well as the Old Town with its typical Italian-style houses, and buzzing nightlife. We warmly recommend a walk to the nearby Matisse and Chagall museums, the 15th century Cimiez Monastery and the 2000-year old Roman ruins.
Nice hosts a world-class Carnaval in February-march and the Cimiez Jazz Festival in July.

The condominium itself is in adjacent to several parks, in the heart of the Cimiez luxury area, well known for the XIXth-century hotels and mansions built for the British gentry (nearby hotel "Regina" used to host Queen Victoria).
A car is not necessary, however parking is easy, should you wish to drive around the Cote d'Azur area.
