This is a smart 1960's purpose built block of apartments, all with terraces and central hot water and heating. The building is entered by a large marble foyer with two lifts available. Situated on the second floor, the Living Room, Kitchen and Bedroom all open onto the terrace through large glass doors. The floors are marble tiled and parquet in the bedroom. The whole place was refurbished by an Italian company when I purchased it, to a high standard and has a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with separate toilet. Walls are painted in soft pastels or white providing a clean relaxed ambiance. Simply furnished in imported 1970's Californian Lucite furniture, the light is reflected throughout. This will be my home in retirement so is really a' home from home'. The location is one block in from the sea, off Promenade des Anglais, in a quiet little road away from the flowing traffic. There is no private parking but there are some free spaces underneath although very popular!. Place Massena and old town are about 20 mins. walk .Rue de France is immediately behind with baker, butcher and supermarket. This road is lined with restaurants and interesting shops all the way through to Place Massena and the tramway.

Further details outdoors: Just to add there is a small table and two chairs on the terrace for the morning coffee, chilled lunchtime rosé or perhaps that evening Martini. THERE IS £50 CHARGE FOR CLEANING;
Naturally you wil find iron and ironing board, hairdryer and numerous other items of use in the cupboards. This is my home and is equipped accordingly for full time living.
A deposit of 30% is required to hold dates and this is non refundable upon cancellation - sorry, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
There is a deposit of £250 (cheque) upon arrival to cover damage and this will be destroyed upon cleaning if all is in order.
Conditions
This smart, but pretty residence is normally my home so please look after and cherish it as if it were yours. Thanx a bunch. I do not have pets or children at home so have decided to keep it that way.!! All guests will be personally met with help just up the road if they need it. I have no problem with smokers as long as they use the terrace only which is a great place with a bottle of wine in the evening. Although I would prefer if you didn't bring the local waiters home for a rave!! (it's such a nice quiet building).
The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
Nice is known for its hot summers on the beach and mild sunny days in the winter. Amazing architecture and wonderful restaurants make this an ever popular spot for tourists. Beautiful stretch of coast from St. Tropez to Monaco. There is never enough time to see the whole of this breathaking region. In 1 - 2 hours drive you can reach the Mercantour for walking or raquetting or generally just to enjoy the mountains.
The Nice / Central Nice area
Apart from the obvious beach activities there are many museums, galleries and designer shops in Nice itself. Just wondering the streets to admire the architecture and to stop for a cup of coffee/lunch can fill a whole day. In February there is the carnival but most weekends in the summer there are special events on the promenade which is a haven for cyclists, joggers and bladers. Just a short drive up into the hills gives the most wonderful coastal views and an insight into the luxurious villas hidden away behind trees. Christmas is magical with many extra attractions. There is a shop just in the next road where you can hire pedal bikes and motorised scooters to explore the area.

“Good location”
Spent there 1 week. Nice, clean apartment. Located nearby to the Promenade des anglais. Sea shore is 100 m away from the apartment. Apartment: Kitchen fully equiped; Bedrooms, bath and WC - good condition; Terrace - long and nice. Good points of the appartment: 1. Nearby sea shore, supermarkets, restaurants, shopping, local transportation (bus) stop points 2. Appartament fully equiped with all needed stuff (including beach towels etc.) 3. Secure entrance and localisation 4. Transportation from airport 5. Landline calls and wifi free Bad points: 1. Air-con only is only in one bedroom, a bit to hard to fall asleep in a other one bedroom when its very warm at night :) In general it's a good apartment in good location to spent a week in Nice. Everything is by the hand.

The apartment is suited to 2 people but we agree to a third (if a family member) using the sofa bed in the living room. There is no second bedroom!. We would like to remind all potential guests that Nice is very hot in high season and if you are not acclimatised, sleeping can be difficult. We do provide a fan in the living area.

This was our first visit to Nice; it's a lively town with lots to do to suit all interests. La Barchetta is very conveniently placed - only a minute's walk from the beach and close to the Old and New Town areas. There are local shops close by for basic groceries and wine. The flat is very well equipped and spacious.The additional facilities like beach towels, beach mats etc save on the packing and the airport pick up by owner Jane means a stress free start to your holiday. Nice has very good public transport and any bus journey is only 1 euro so very cheap way to see the Casino at Monte Carlo or the beaches at Antibes. We had a great week and would recommennd both Nice and La Bacrhetta

“convenience, comfort and style - perfect for Nice”
the second time we have rented the apartment and once again we found it ideal for exploring Nice and the surrounding areas. The owner,Jane met us and was as helpful as ever.The apartment is extremely well equipped and presented and there was, as usual, a comprehensive starter pack of essentials to make the stay easy. the balcony does not have a sea view but is large , sunny and ideal for eating and all 3 rooms open on to it- a delightful spot to relax in. We appreciated the beach equipment available and we visited the lovely beach frequently - 1 minute from the flat. No need for a car- public transport is plentiful and cheap. Shops minutes away. 15 minutes walk to the old town. Pick up from the airport is included but we arrived by train and jane agreed to take us to the airport at the end of the stay. C.lose to bars and restaurants . Lots to do but do visit the surrounding areas especially via the 100 bus to monaco , Eze village, Antibes etc- very cheap by bus or train.

“Honeymoon apartment!!!”
We found this apartment online and were blown away by how beautiful and elegant it looked. When we arrived it was exactly the same as on the website, but to see it in the flesh so to speak took our breath away. The apartment is stunning!
It was perfect for us as we were on our honeymoon. Jane, the owner, picked us up from the airport and could not have been more helpful, giving us information on where to go and things to see. She gave us a bottle of champage and little chocolate gingers which was absolutely lovely.
We were one street away from the promenade and near to shops, supermarkets and restaurants.
We would definitely go back again, the apartment is like a home from home, apart from clothes, you don't really need to take anything else, Jane has it all in the apartment!! From hairdryer to toiletries and enough food and sundries to get you started so you don't need to worry about shopping for a day or two.
We had the most magical time which was definitely enhanced by staying in this beautiful apartment!!
