Home description

PLEASE NOTE I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REPLY TO ENQUIRIES BETWEEN 19 NOV - 8 DEC AS TRAVELLING!

This is a smart 1960's purpose built block of apartments, all with terraces and central hot water and heating. The building is entered by a large marble foyer with two lifts available. Situated on the second floor, the Living Room, Kitchen and Bedroom all open onto the terrace through large glass doors. The floors are marble tiled and parquet in the bedroom. The whole place was refurbished by an Italian company 3 years ago to a high standard and has a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with separate toilet. Walls are painted in soft pastels or white providing a clean relaxed ambiance. Simply furnished in imported 1970's Californian Lucite furniture, the light is reflected throughout. This was purchased as my first home so it really is a home from home. The location is one block in from the sea in a quiet little road away from the flowing traffic. There are FREE but popular PARKING spaces. Place Massena and old town about 20 mins. Rue de France is immediately behind with baker and butcher and which is lined with restaurants and interesting shops all the way through to Place Massena and the new tramway.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

Nice is known for its hot summers on the beach and mild sunny days in the winter. Amazing architecture and wonderful restaurants make this an ever popular spot for tourists. Beautiful stretch of coast from St. Tropez to Monaco. There is never enough time to see the whole of this breathaking region. In 1 - 2 hours drive you can reach the Mercantour for walking or raquetting or generally just to enjoy the mountains.

Nice / Promenade des Anglais area

Apart from the obvious beach activities there are many museums, galleries and designer shops in Nice itself. Just wondering the streets to admire the architecture and to stop for a cup of coffee/lunch can fill a whole day. In February there is the carnival but most weekends in the summer there are special events on the promenade which is a haven for cyclists, joggers and bladers. Just a short drive up into the hills gives the most wonderful coastal views and an insight into the luxurious villas hidden away behind trees. Christmas is magical with many extra attractions. There is a shop just in the next road where you can hire pedal bikes and motorised scooters to explore the area.

This smart, but pretty residence is normally my home so please look after and cherish it as if it were yours. Thanx a bunch. I do not have pets or children at home so have decided to keep it that way.!! All guests will be personally met with help just up the road if they need it. I have no problem with smokers as long as they use the terrace which is a great place with a bottle of wine in the evening. Although I would prefer if you didn't bring the local waiters home for a rave!! (it's such a nice quiet building). Oh... and when you are out there getting quietly sloshed, please remember to slosh a bit of water into the plants at the same time. Cheers!

5/5 Great apartment in Nice, France
Leicestershire traveller Loughborough, Leicestershire.
Date Submitted: October 09, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
This is the cleanest and best equipped apartment we have stayed in (and we have stayed in lots over the last few years). The description is extremely accurate regarding location, layout and amenities. The owner was on hand if we had any problems or questions and she even met us at the airport! This meant we arrived completely relaxed, and ready to start our holiday.
Because we were just a minute away from the Promenade des Anglais, we started every morning with a jog along the promenade (picking up a baguette for breakfast on the way back) and went swimming in the Med in the afternoons. There are supermarkets, bakers, butchers etc just a road away. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and we ate all our meals on the sunny balcony.

5/5 Great vacation at Le Modador
ang & dud Cardiff.
Date Submitted: October 07, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2007
We stayed at this apartment in June 2007 and I have just found there is a review link so thought I would give one!
This is a lovely apartment much more that just a holiday let,it is beautifully furnished and has a very homely feel about it. The location is great just of the Promenade with a bakery and supermarket more or less on the doorstep.
The terrace is very welcoming has a sunny aspect & is full of lovely plants, just right for that glass or two of wine!
The owners cannot do enough for you, we were met at the airport and shown how everything worked etc.
We have just returned from a super week in Nice - a really beautfiul place to visit and had to stay in another apartment, although very nice it really wasn't a 'patch' on Le Modador. We hope to return next year and try to stay there again.

Owners Response: Hey thanks for that Angela. I am sorry we could not fit you in this year but the bookings came in really early in the New Year. It would be lovely to meet up with you again in 2009 and its good to remember the early bird catches the worm! .

5/5 Brilliant Le Mogador, NICE.

Date Submitted: October 02, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
My wife and I spent 2 weeks here in September 08. The apartment was all we had hoped for and more. Beautifully finished throughout, close to the prom and sea, city centre, shops, transport, and yet,a little oasis....The balcony was perfect for breakfast and in the evening a few glasses of wine over a game of cards. The service was excellent, everything was provided, nothing was any trouble. We hope to return to Nice next year(credit crunch or not) and will be trying to stay here again.

5/5 Superb holiday - can't wait to get back!
Phil & Judy Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex, UK.
Date Submitted: September 29, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
My wife and I spent a week in Nice in May 2008 and used this apartment in Le Mogador as our base. The apartment is beautifully fitted out and we found its facilities excellent, also its location perfect for getting to the city centre and/or the beach. The service provided was second to none – we were even picked up at the airport on arrival! Our journey home was also made easy by the fact that the apartment is only a couple of yards from the bus stop that got us back to the airport. We enjoyed the place so much that within a few days we had booked another week there for October 2008.

Owners Response: I would like to say that we have had wonderful guests this summer and I am so happy that Phil and Judy are coming back to us. Its a two way thing and its thanks to our friendly visitors that a warm and welcoming ambiance has flowed into the apartment to make it a real home from home. Lovely!

5/5 Our wonderful stay at Le Mogador, Nice
Hayley & Rostand Cardiff, Wales.
Date Submitted: September 27, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
My partner and I booked this apartment for his birthday during July 2008. It was the first time that we have opted for a private apartment and I must say that we had the most fantastic time ever. The very friendly owners picked us up from the airport, even though we had a delay and it was late at night. Our first impressions of the apartment was 'what a great place' and I can confirm that it is exactly as the photographs displayed on the site and I mean exactly - it is beautiful, spotlessly clean - I wanted to move in forever! The description of this apartment is totally accurate. It is literally 2 mins from the Promenade and the sea and really is in a ideal location to enjoy Nice. It is quiet and peaceful and the balcony is a great place to have a BBQ (yes there is a BBQ for you to use and we did) and a bottle of wine or two in the evenings. The balcony is also very sunny and great to sunbathe during the day. There is every modern convenience to use including a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave etc which made life easy if you prefer to eat in rather than spend lots of money eating out every night. The supermarket and bakery were just around the corner so it was very convenient to stock up the fridge with food and vino! We have friends who live in Nice and we entertained them most evenings and they told us that the apartment was in a 'posh' area of Nice! It is literally a 20 minute walk to Old Nice where there is a great selection of restaurants where you can eat outdoors. The owners were great and even called us after a few days to check that everything was ok. I would, and have, recommended this property to family and friends and will definitely book again for 2009 when we can decide on the date. If you book this property you will be delighted. Owners Response: Well, what can I say? Still only into my second year of renting, I am just overwhelmed at such a marvelous response. Thanks a bunch you two. I am just so pleased you had such a great time, that's what it's all about after all. Look forward to you seeing you next time!!
