Further details indoors:
Bedrooms:
The master bedroom has two impressive solid wood fitted wardrobes, a floor to ceiling headboard, a king size bed and original 1950's bed side tables. There is a beautifully restored parquet wooden floor and French windows lead to a balcony that benefits from a magnificent sea view.
There are again spacious wardrobes in the second bedroom, two beds of which there is one single and one small double, and a balcony with a sea view. Both bedrooms benefit from double glazing and air conditioning.
Bathrooms:
The large bathroom has the original aqua fixtures, but all fittings have been replaced with modern equivalents. There is a bath with shower over, a bidet, large wash basin and toilet. There is also a separate shower room with a turquoise suite, and a separate WC.
Living Area:
The large living and dining area has double aspect floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the magnificent view. There are alcoves with lighting, a built in desk and bookcases and a large dining table with 6 chairs. In contrast to the 1950's style there is a 26" LCD TV with DVD player and cable TV. From the living area you can access the terrace with table and six chairs. From the terrace is a stunning sea view.
Kitchen:
The kitchen has been completely renovated with the only original features being the floor tiles and ceramic sink. There are white kitchen units with grey worktops and breakfast bar, stools, dishwasher, electric oven and halogen hob, washing machine and fridge-freezer.
The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
The Côte d’Azur lies between the mountains peaks of the Alps and the shimmering turquoise Mediterranean. It has been the playground of Europe since the 19th century when it became a popular holiday destination for the rich and famous. It remains to this day, one of the most sought after destinations in France and is ideal for family and group holidays as well as romantic city breaks.
Agreeably named, Nice is the capital of the Alpes-Maritimes. It is a city that stays alive and active all year round. There is plenty to see and do and something to suit all tastes.
With approximately 300 days of sunshine, it is renowned for its long hot summers and cooling sea breezes which help to maintain a pleasant temperature.
Beautifully situated, between Cannes and Menton, Nice offers easy access by train or bus allowing you to explore many other interesting towns along this famous coastline. Day trips to Monaco, Italy and some of the surrounding hilltop Provençal villages are all possible. A day trip to the ski slopes of Auron and Isola 2000 during the winter months is also feasible.
The Nice / Promenade des Anglais area
The building is situated half way down the Promenade des Anglais opposite Poincare beach and about a 10 minute walk from the famous Negresco and Florida beach. Whilst you'll need to stroll into the centre of town, it's certainly accessible. It will take you fifteen minutes to walk along the Promenade to get to the hub of the pedestrian zone with its hundreds of restaurants and boutiques surrounding Place Magenta.
It is a 30 minute walk from the apartment to Place Massena and the Old Town. Should you prefer, there are regular buses. The area still has some restaurants, bars, and shops less than a five minute walk away.

We booked our second stay with Nice Pebbles. Since it was a bit off season, we booked an apartment with a view of the Mediterranean knowing the Promenade would not be too noisy. The view from "Promenade" was spectacular. The location of the apartment was more convenient for practical needs that we had imagined (market, bakery, buss, etc). Our greeter Bruno was extremely helpful and secured a parking place for us during our stay. There were roadworks late at night as preparations were made for the upcoming tourist season but the disruption was minimal. I recommend taking advantage of the lower shoulder season rates enjoy a less touristy view of Nice. As noted in rating of condition, there was a bit of water damage to one part of the ceiling that needs repair but it did not interfere with our stay. You are to busy looking at the sea to notice! If you plan to cook, the open market at Liberation is an absolute must. Stop at Kiosk Tin Tin for a snack. Take the 23 bus near the apartment. There is a roller shopping cart at the apartment that is very handy. Skip the inside part of the market and go to Marche Boucherie for great meats. Across from the butcher is Delices & Cremerie. Best cheese and nicest owners in town! P.S. Take advantage of booking airport transfer via Nice Pebbles. Recommend Sixt Rental Car at The Meridian Hotel. Response: Thank you for taking the time to write such a comprehensive review of your time in Nice with Pebbles. We greatly appreciate your recommendations for the area, such as the boucherie, buses and the benefits of the off-peak season. No doubt, these will be very helpful for future guests. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your time in Promenade. We hope to see you again in the Riviera soon! |

My family of four, two adults and 12 and 14 year old daughters, loved our stay at the Promenade. Bruno was prompt and helpful and got us settled in as soon as we arrived. The location was fantastic and the views from the terrace were breathtaking! The apartment was about 2 km from Old Nice and we enjoyed walking the Promenade to get there. The city buses were easy to use when we didn't want to walk. There were great restaurants and a grocery store very close to the apartment. The rental was comfortable and well-equipped, and we really appreciated the air conditioning in the bedrooms. My only suggestion would be to have the beach towels at the property...having to wash them before returning them meant we went a few days at the beach without towels! We had a great week and our family would definitely stay there again! |

The apartment generally met our expectations. Lots of space and a very nice view from the living room and from a large balcony. Only needed to cross the Promenade des anglais and then You were... more |
